A volcano is a large geographical feature found occasionally through SimNation. They tend to be dormant tall craters, or active volcanos that can erupt.
Additionally, hot springs seen in many worlds are implied to be the result of volcanic activity.
The Sims Castaway Stories[]

The Lava Pools on Volcano Island, just south of the main Felicity Island, contain densely placed lava lakes. The islands' general volcano network erupts frequently.

A very similar setup of lava lakes is found on the residential lot Hot Property.

Lunar Lakes[]

Lunar Lakes appears to have two tall mountains with volcano-like craters in them. Besides a couple lakes in them, the volcanos appear to have become dormant well in advance of the Lunar Lakes settlement arriving on that plant.

The atoll contains a very large mountain on one end, with an abandoned warehouse on top. Though lava can be seen bubbling inside the crater, the volcano does not appear to be active.

The Sims 4: Island Living[]

The Mua Pel'am northern subdistrict of Sulani has a very much active volcano. It occasionally has rock-based eruptions, which can cause Sims hit by the rocks to catch fire.
One nearby residential lot, Caldera Camp, even has the Volcanic Activity lot challenge, adding the possibility of steam cracks and broken objects on the lot during eruptions.
