The Veloci-Rooster (also spelled Velocirooster) is a chicken that wanders around the street in The Sims Bustin' Out (handheld)'s SimValley and a pet in The Urbz: Sims in the City for Nintendo DS. Its name is a combination of the words Velociraptor and Rooster.

The Sims: Bustin' Out

For much of the game, the Veloci-Rooster can be found running around the town, going between different locations depending on the time of day. If it catches the player's Sim, the Sim will be knocked out by it and end up in the hospital. The Veloci-Rooster makes a rooster sound that warns players of its presence.^{[confirmation needed]}

Early on in the game, Level 2, Mission 1, Escape of the Chickens, Uncle Hayseed's chickens escape due to the Veloci-Rooster, as the player soon learns from Det. Dan D. Mann. According to Det. Mann, the Veloci-Rooster is an escaped lab experiment, lab accident #24061. It killed the mother of Nora Zeal-Ott, who was also his sister, and he has been trying to capture it ever since.

Later on, in Level 4, Mission 5, Champion of the Simverse, Daddy Bigbucks is trying to start a triathlon in SimValley and gets the player to volunteer to be the first participant. One of the events is chicken wrangling. So, he tells the player to do what nobody in SimValley had ever done before: catch the Veloci-Rooster.

While the intended way to catch the Veloci-Rooster is to get 6 body skill points and then catch him, just being given the mission to do so is enough to be able to catch him. Regardless, the player can raise their body to 6 at any point in the game and catch him early. Once the mission is completed, the Veloci-Rooster will no longer appear to disturb Sims. The player may hand over the Veloci-rooster to Det. Dan as a gift to raise a couple of relationship points.

The Urbz: Sims in the City

In The Urbz (handheld), several references exist to the Velocirooster. Sue Pirnova will give the player a Velocirooster skeleton as a homewarming gift due to her interest in paleontology, although she'll remark that it's "lame because they aren't extinct." In the DS version of The Urbz, Velocirooster can also be made as a pet in the Splicer Island Lab.

Trivia

• In The Urbz: Sims in the City (handheld), during mission 3-3 when guarding the graveyard, the players will tell Daddy Bigbucks, "Think again Daddy B. I'm free as a Veloci-Rooster," which is rather ironic because in The Sims Bustin' Out for handheld, the players have to catch the Veloci-Rooster.
