You have done pretty good work!

Vague information on Trait page Edit

Hi there. I noticed your two edits to the Trait (The Sims 3) page. I assume you added the question mark after the MummyCUT text because you weren't sure about it. A good place to write about things you're not quite sure of or would like a second opinion on, is the talk page. Other users can then contribute to your preliminary information and we can work things out together. All the best of luck and if you have any questions about the wiki, feel free to write me on my talk page. Duskey(talk)(blog) 22:42, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Those edits have been rolled back, pending confirmation of accuracy. Please put speculative information such as this on the Trait talk page before making an edit to the main article, and allow the community at large to confirm its existence. Thanks. --LostInRiverview (talk)(blog) 22:46, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

I added the ? mark because in the name of the trait there is a ? mark in the name. Also keep the "CUT" part fully capital cuz that is how it is in my game, I don't know what the trait does but it is there.--Eduardog3000 01:12, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Cite your sources Edit

Hello there. I've noticed you've added some information here and there about the upcoming Late Night expansion. What you add information about titles still in development, please cite your sources by using the <ref> command. Duskey(talk) 01:54, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Well i did not know how to cite my sources, but i did put that Rodiek said it in the "Twitterveiw"--Eduardog3000 03:18, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, you mean on the pool page, sorry, but you might need to fix what I did about "Death by Thirst" on the pages Ghost and Death--Eduardog3000 03:18, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Since you are now aware of how to perform this action, you are fully capable of doing it yourself. See Help:Cite if you need additional information about this tag. Duskey(talk) 03:36, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

You can do that, I'm busy on other wikis, i work on the Wizards Wiki, Phineas and Ferb Wiki, Pikmin Wiki, Mario Wiki, ...--Eduardog3000 03:48, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

It's not his job to clean up after you. If you're going to take the time to include information on a page, then you should take the time to reference that information too. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 03:56, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

... Star Wars Wiki, Suite Life Wiki, Billy and Mandy Wiki, Chowder Wiki, Zelda Wiki, etc.--Eduardog3000 04:13, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Well if you want those pages clean, then clean them yourself, that is what i was saying.--Eduardog3000 05:25, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Let me Explain Edit

Let's start with a simple principle; everybody MUST cite their sources. This rule is especially true in articles and sections regarding new games, because the wiki strives to have only accurate information, and there is a lot of inaccurate information out there. Therefore, including a reference to a website or page that has the information is vital; failing to do that means that the info could have very well been made up on-the-spot. Duskey was right in removing the information you included on the Death page.

Let me be clear here... saying in the sentence that the information was found at some source is not good enough. If you were writing an academic paper for a class, you would be required to give a reference; for articles such as this, consider that a good rule to follow. In this case specifically, the solution is as simple as including <ref> and </ref> tags, linking to the Twitterview article. If you don't add references when necessary, Duskey or any other editor is totally right in asking for some sort of citation or in removing your information completely.

Finally, it doesn't matter to me, Duskey, or any other administrator if this is the only wiki you contribute to, or one of many wikis that you contribute to. When making a contribution on any wiki, you should edit as well as you possibly can. If you don't, the results are often poor, and that reflects badly on you and badly represents this wiki.

So, to recap; cite your sources correctly. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 03:00, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

I said my source on the death page right, there, Grant said it in the twitterview, I DON'T ******* KNOW HOW TO ******* CITE MY ******* SOURCES, i will make sure what i put there is there, if you want the sources cited DO IT YOUR ******* SELF.--Eduardog3000 05:38, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

See my ******* attempt to "Cite" my ******* source: Death--Eduardog3000 05:45, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

The ******* help page mentioned above make NO ******* SENSE--Eduardog3000 05:45, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

You only needed to delete the second <ref> you made on the Death page and it worked. I deleted it now. Citing is explained in detail at Help:Cite. Great job on your first reference! Duskey(talk) 05:57, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Like I said, I read that page and I do not comprehend it.--Eduardog3000 06:00, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Ah ok, I've misunderstood you then. Let me give you an example then. If you put in the following...
Here is some text<ref>Here is the first reference</ref>, here is more text<ref>Here's the second reference</ref> and here is EVEN more text.

<references />

You will get:

Here is some text[1], here is more text[2] and here is EVEN more text.
  1. Here is the first reference
  2. Here's the second reference

We usually put a level 2 title (==References==) at the bottom of articles and list the <references /> after that. I hope this helped you on your way to the wonderful world of citing your sources :D Duskey(talk) 06:13, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry; I thought that the reason you weren't citing properly was because you chose not to, not because you didn't know how to. If you didn't know how to cite sources, you should have asked someone who does know how, rather than acting like you didn't want to cite sources, because that led me to draw the wrong conclusion. But since you now know how to cite sources, I suppose this is all water under the bridge. Again, my apologies for making an assumption about your character. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 06:23, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

what about without?

can i have 5 then get hidden 1?

where can i get the mod for free without any risk of virus, or danger, or whatever.

Free mods, no risk, just make an account: You can have hidden without mods, you just won't see them as one of the sims traits

My trait affecting mods:

chooseable hidden traits:

infinite traits:

the infinite traits mod requires this mod to be installed:

All risk free (i have them on my game)--Eduardog3000 07:56, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Isn't there one i can do for unlimited traits and choosable hidden ones? because i tried those, one was for a house, two were going to take too long. Thanks anyway for all your halp. --Death

I'm not understanding, those are the mods up there.--Eduardog3000 17:26, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Bots Edit

I've noticed that you have created a new bot. This wiki has no rules specifying bot usage, but it is my understanding that any user can possess a bot to make automatic or semi-automatic edits. However, I would encourage you to do two things before making use of your bot - one, you should read this page to make sure that you get all the necessary information about Wikia bot practice; two, you should at least consider applying for a bot flag, so that edits made by that bot won't overwhelm the edit histor. As a final note, your bot may be blocked temporarily if it is found that it is damaging articles or not functioning correctly. If need be, contact me or another admin and we will block/unblock it depending on the circumstances. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 06:18, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Well for now, I am not really using it to be a bot like normal bots. It is really just a side account/joke, is that wrong?

Also, if one day I do learn how a bot works, and become an admin (I'm working on it), it will be an actual bot.--Eduarbot3000/Eduardog3000

Well, creating a separate account could be seen by some as a sock puppet, but the term mostly applies to cases where a user uses another account to drum up support for something; there's no set-in-stone rule saying that one person can't have more than one account, but it's generally frowned upon. Also, I know on Wikipedia at least, giving an account the name 'bot' when it isn't a bot is not allowed; I don't know if that's the case on Wikia, but I know that calling a user 'bot' when it's not a bot is misleading, at least. I don't think you need to be an admin to have a bot, but you should definitely know how to use it if you end up getting one. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 06:38, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
Well if you find out what i am doing with my other account is at all wrong, feel free to tell me/block that account, and i will cease using it, until i fully grasp the concept of bots. --Eduarbot3000/Eduardog3000
If you wish to test bot features, I suggest doing so on your own userpages or the sandbox, NOT actual articles. Duskey(talk) 09:59, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Undoing edit Edit

Why did you undo the edit by Tabbypaw on The Sims 3: Fast Lane Stuff: ? Duskey(talk) 09:36, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

Cuz he made one pic link exactly here, which is not a page.
Catching mistakes like that helps the wiki. However, it would have been better to fix it rather then undo it. --a_morris (talk) 16:44, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
Good Point, sorry.--Eduardog3000 15:03, August 12, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your imagesEdit

We appreciate the images you've contributed to the wiki, however it seems you forgot to add some things to them. The images in question are:

Filenames: The image(s) you uploaded contains either an invalid filename or a generic filename. Please avoid using slashes in your files / \, this causes the image to not show in articles. A generic filename is eg. 'screenshot-xx'. These will be overwritten when someone else uploads and image of the same name. In the future, please mark files with invalid or generic filenames with the {{move}} template and an administrator will move it if they haven't already been moved.

I went ahead and moved it already, but now you know for future images. :)

If you have any further questions about this message or this wiki, feel free to contact me on my talk page. Duskey(talk) 17:32, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

I must point out to you again that it's important that you choose the correct license and category when you upload images, with our new License dropdown menu it's never been easier. Duskey(talk) 03:59, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Category Edit

I deleted the category Musical skills since we already have Category:Instrument skills. Duskey(talk) 10:13, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

About Redirects Edit

Hi. I can see by the Test page that you're trying out redirects. A note on redirects - most redirects on this wiki automatically move you from one page to another. For example, if you click on a link to The Sims: Livin' It Up, it will automatically redirect you to The Sims: Livin' Large - this is called a hard redirect. I don't know if you can set up a hard redirect to another website, like Google, but I imagine if you tried, the link would have to give the complete url, including the http:// part, something like: . Hope this helps. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 20:23, August 28, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Main Page Edit

Nope, all users older than 4 days can do it. On a related note: I am an admin. Duskey(talk) 20:44, August 28, 2010 (UTC)

I know you are an admin, that is why i posted that on your talk page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eduardog3000 (talkcontribs) 22:46, August 28, 2010 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Redirects in blog postsEdit

Just so you know, redirects in blog posts, makes them not show up. They're only good if someone is going to the blog post link directly, eg. through a bookmark link or something. Also, when creating a forum post, it is important that you include or do not deleted the {{forumheader}} or the post will not show up in the forum listings.

I also locked your forum post, please see the disclaimer in the post as to why. I can only encourage you to divert your dissatisfaction with the incoming skin change towards Wikia and not The Sims Wiki. If you're looking for support from other editors, please do so at the general audience at Community Central instead. --Duskeytalk 11:39, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Forum post Edit

Per your request on Duskey's talk page, your forum post has been deleted. As Duskey said, TSW is not the place to launch petitions or to seriously debate Wikia initiatives or improvements; please keep those types of threads off The Sims Wiki. Thanks. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 20:41, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

I also deleted your blog posts, redirecting to the forum post. --Duskeytalk 21:52, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Changing Names Edit

I'm just writing this to encourage you, in the future, to be a little more careful when you change the names of articles. Here's why: When you changed Vampire to Vampire (The Sims 2), you left behind a redirect (page moves automatically leave a redirect for all but administrators). This is fine, since everyone would need to be redirected anyways. However, when you moved the page again to Vampire (The Sims 1 and 2), you created a double redirect. That's a problem because the wiki will automatically redirect to a page if it's a single redirect, but the wiki will not automatically redirect on double redirects. Meaning that whenever anyone clicks on a link to the Vampire page, instead of being taken automatically to Vampire (The Sims 1 and 2)(which is the whole idea), they are taken to a redirect page.

To sum it up, please be really sure what you're going to rename an article before you rename it. And if you make a mistake or need to change the name again, just leave it alone and ask an administrator to do it, since we can move pages without making redirects, and we can also delete pages that aren't needed. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 22:22, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

I think it's a bad idea to move the Vampire page to Vampire (Sims 1 and Sims 2), it's uneccesary as the article isn't very large, only the Late Night section needed it's own article. All article setup should be uniform, this means that we would now have to rename eg. Cooking to Cooking (Sims 1 and 2) since it and many other articles have been divided into a general article and an article for The Sims 3, you should consider moving Vampire back. --Duskeytalk 22:41, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

I moved "Vampire (Sims 1 and Sims 2)" back to Vampire. I agree with creating an article for Late Night vampires, and linking to it from the primary Vampire article, so left that alone. Dharden (talk) 23:40, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Stop moving pages Edit

Please stop moving pages. This is the last notification you will recieve. Lately you have been moving many articles which is considered unconstructive edits. Your latest move with The Beast should not have been made since it's still being discussed how to organize vehicles on the wiki and it also has a spelling error in it. It's Motorcycle with two O's. I'm moving the page back. If you have any suggestions as to how we should organize vehicles, please add them to the discussion. --Duskeytalk 21:38, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

It needs to be moved to "Motorcycle" and have "The Jamboree" added, same for "The Kenspa" to be moved to "Scooter" and add "The Scoot Mobile"--Eduardog3000 00:57, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
I understand that that is your idea on how to organize vehicles, but since there is currently a discussion going on about it, I would hesitate make any major changes. --Duskeytalk 13:22, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

Sup Dog Edit

Please Log in Edit

Please remember to log into Wikia whenever you're on The Sims Wiki, so those edits you make can be more easily associated with your username. I very nearly reverted edits made by your IP because I was unaware that it was yours. Additionally, operating an active username and an active IP at the same time may be construed as sockpuppeting, so please limit your edits to your username. If you are having problems logging into the wiki, you may need to contact someone at Wikia to help address your problem. Thanks. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 20:49, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Scooter Edit

On the Scooter page, when you tried to do it in both sections. That cannot work. The infobox is misplaced and your spacing the articles way too much. Thats why I undid your revision. [Ѧüя◎ґ]

The Beast/Motorcycle Edit

Hello Ed. I noticed you moved The Beast to Motorcycle, which was still not closed. Unless there is confirmation about the closing, the name will be moved back. Thanks. [Ѧüя◎ґ]

It seems that my last messege didn't make sense. What I meant to say was, The Beast, is the only motorcycle known in The Sims Series. Now, there's no need to move it back to Motorcycle unless there are other motorcycles. Thanks for understanding. [Ѧüя◎ґ]
There is another motorcycle: The Jamboree in Fast Lane Stuff.--Eduardog3000 21:33, September 28, 2010 (UTC)
EDIT CONFLICT, I know, I just found it. [Ѧüя◎ґ]

Second: What I didn't do wrong? What is wrong about making a blog? I did not break any of wikia's rules by making the blog, why don't you tell me what I did do.--Eduardog3000 15:10, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

Excuse me? OMG is used all the time not by girls. Where on Earth does it say OMG is only for girls?
I am not saying it is only for girls, I am saying, they way you said it in almost every sentence is what girls do. Plus take example from the admins here on the Sims Wiki, none of them say "OMG", you need to be more professional when dealing with admin situations.
