- Maxis announces (officially) The Sims 3: Island Paradise. Yes, I know TS3:IP was already revealed during the January "Live Chat with The Sims 3", but Maxis has finally released an official Press Release and trailer video. You can watch the trailer by clicking the video to the right, or read the press release here (courtesy of BeyondSims).
- EA "wins" the title of "Worst Company in America". The Consumerist holds an annual bracketed competition, where people can vote on which company deserves the not-so-prestigious 'Golden Poo' award. EA also received this title back in 2012, making it the first-ever company to "win" the award twice (and also, in back-to-back years). You can read more about this on the Consumerist website.
- EA's response. EA's Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore penned an "apology" to its customers in response to its second taking of the 'Golden Poo'. The apology could best be summarized as laughable, demonstrating that Moore and, by extension all of EA, really don't hold much high regard for their customers. Instead of taking to heart the concerns raised by the voters in the "Worst Company in America" poll, Moore defends EA's poor performance by saying that "the tallest trees catch the most wind," among other jewels. - Upcoming Live Broadcast. Maxis is holding a live broadcast next Tuesday, April 16th, starting at 10am PDT (1pm EDT/17:00 UTC). You can check out the official webpage or the Facebook event for more information.

- New Cover feature. As detailed in this very well-written blog post, a new template has been introduced to The Sims Wiki. Be sure to check out some of our larger pages to see how the template has been implemented so far.
- Fanon cleanup - (this is a late add) - A few of our administrators have been cleaning up and deleting very old, abandoned and poorly-written fanon. Make sure to update and improve your fanon if it has the {{Fanon-uc}} template on it, to avoid it getting deleted in the future. The admins deleting the pages usually won't notify you before they do, so be sure to fix it before it gets the axe! If you feel one or more of your fanon pages was deleted by mistake, please contact an administrator for assistance.
- Discussions. We've got a couple things to talk about over in the Community Discussions forum. Be sure to come over and give your input, or start your own discussion. The most active threads currently are:
- The discussion of a possible Userpage Policy has progressed. Presently the talks are focusing on whether or not "Friends Lists" should be prohibited, as well as other details regarding Friends Lists. Be sure to weigh in, as this issue could impact all users.
- A proposal has been made to introduce a formal "Three Revert Rule", similar to one used on Wikipedia, and to formalize The Sims Wiki's "Edit War" guidelines in general.
- An idea to expand the use and coverage of blogs on The Sims Wiki has been brought forward.

This is a late add, but I figured I should use this space for something other than just complaining about the weather.
As I mentioned above, EA has received the Golden Poo award for the second year in a row. EA's COO didn't seem to believe his company was deserving of the prize, especially considering the other companies EA was up against. So, I'd like to know what you think.
