Tycho Curious is an alien-Sim hybrid baby featured in The Sims 2, The Sims 2 for PSP and The Sims 4. They are the child of Pascal Curious and the alien Pollination Technician.
The baby is only already named in The Sims 2 for PSP. In The Sims 2 for PC and The Sims 4, the baby's name is chosen by the player as they are not born yet. Their gender also differs between all three games. In The Sims 2 for PC, the baby can be either male or female, in The Sims 2 for PSP, the baby is male, and in The Sims 4, the baby is female.
Biography[]
Life leading up to The Sims 2[]
In The Sims 2 for PC, the unborn alien baby of Pascal Curious will be born shortly after starting to play the household. Pascal was abducted by aliens before the game started, and he is on his third day of his pregnancy.
Unlike Brandi Broke, whose child is always a boy, Pascal's baby may be either male or female. There is, however, no chance that twins will be born unless the forceTwins cheat code is used, or if Pascal eats cheesecake before the baby is born. When it is born, the baby will always have green skin and black hair. Since alien genetics are dominant, the baby will probably have black alien eyes, but they can also have dark blue eyes, like Pascal.
Life leading up to The Sims 2 (PSP)[]
In The Sims 2 for PSP, the child was a boy named Tycho. In the story, Vidcund Curious kidnapped Tycho and sold him to the Dudes in Black to fund his secret project (proven by Vidcund's statement to the player that his bank account is empty, his credit card had reached maximum limit and unable to buy guinea pigs). The Dudes in Black approached Vidcund and told him that Tycho was a prime experimental candidate for them.
He is held in a crib in the Secret Sublevel in Division 47. The player has to rescue him and return him to his father.
The name "Tycho" comes from the Greek name Τυχων (Tychon) meaning "hitting the mark." This was the name of a Greek deity. It was also borne by the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546-1601).
Even though he cannot be interacted with like other characters, the game files still show certain interests being assigned to him, namely Animals and Toys.
Life leading up to The Sims 4[]
In the version of the Curious family that is available on the Maxis Gallery page, Pascal is in his first trimester of an alien pregnancy, with one female baby on the way. However, the baby that is born will always be a normal Sim with Pascal's skintone because he is set as her only parent. She will also always be female. Tycho is also mentioned in the "Stuck in their Shadow" scenario as Nova Curious' cousin.
