Deciding the right career for your sim is hard. This tutorial is there to help your sim.
Factors
There are a few factors to rely on when choosing a career. These are:
- Skills
- Traits
- Family Members
Skills
Careers rely on skills and other factors like mood or relationship with co-workers. E.g if your sim has high athletic skill, the sim can get a job in professional sports.

Traits affect career in ways. Schmoozers become friends easier with co-workers. Anglers, green thumbs etc. makes certain skills be learned faster.
Workaholics can work hard without decreasing fun.
Family Members
Family members and life stages affects careers to, or at least your sim. For instance if you have a toddler and are on a budget and your single. You wouldn't work at the culinary as it makes you work through the night and little Jill may need attention. And may be taken away by the social worker. You may want be in the military or have a part-time job. The military also poses less work days and at level 10. You'll only have 1 day of work every week!!Part-Time Jobs are not a good stable income. A big family for instance can have 1 part-time job sim and the rest can have a full-time job or at least 1 if you want your sims not to starve.
