Trendi is an in-game online store introduced in The Sims 4: High School Years, where Sims can buy and sell several different kinds of fashion outfits. It is accessible from Sims' phones and computers.
Overview[]
Sims who decide to use the Trendi service must first create a fashion outfit by using a special clothing rack. These clothing racks are usually found in the ThrifTea store in Copperdale, but may also be purchased for use on residential lots through build mode. Once the clothing rack is activated, the player will be taken to an interface similar to Create a Sim, but this interface only features some clothing items that are used for fashion outfits. In order for an outfit to be completed, a top, bottom, shoes, and an outfit name must be specified, with a dress or suit counting as both a top and a bottom together. In addition, multiple accessories can also be selected, but they are not a requirement. Outfits that are created fall into one of nine categories depending on the clothes that were specified: basics, boho, country, hipster, outdoorsy, preppy, polished, rocker, and streetwear. All outfits are suitable for sims of any gender.
Each created fashion outfit (which is placed in the sim's inventory after it is created) will have an initial suggested selling price between §100 and §500. Sims can wear the fashion outfits that they created themselves and promote them in the Trendi menu on their phones. Every time an outfit is promoted, the outfit's hype will increase or decrease slightly; an increase in hype will always result in an increase in the sim's followers on Trendi. Sims can also hype their fashion outfits to other sims who have good or bad relationships.
Once a sim decides to sell a fashion outfit on Trendi, they will be asked to enter a price at which the outfit will be sold in comparison to the outfit's starting price. The outfit will remain listed for a maximum of one day if nobody decides to request to buy the outfit at that particular price. If there is a buyer available, players can decide to accept the shipment and send the item through the mail to the buyer, which will also result in an increase in followers.
Sims who decide to buy an outfit from Trendi instead will have it immediately placed in their inventories. Unlike the similar mechanic Plopsy, outfits purchased in this way can be relisted on Trendi and sold for higher prices. Trendi's storefront refreshes every hour.
