Trash compactors in The Sims are standalone appliances. The surface of a trash compactor will not be used for food preparation, but objects can be placed on it.
Due to the way objects work in The Sims, recolors of Maxis objects are separate objects. Therefore, recolors of Maxis trash compactors may have prices that are different from the originals.
