Tobea Dane (née Scott) is one of the pre-made, yet unplayable deceased ancestral Sims who resided during her lifetime in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She was wife of Hamlet, the mother of Cornwall Capp (né Dane), and the mother in-law of his wife, Regan Capp. She is completely unplayable and cannot be resurrected in-game without the use of mods and hacks like SimPE.

Unlike most deceased Veronaville Sims, Tobea has personality points and interests. She also has no elder picture in her character file, while most deceased Veronaville adult Sims have one.

Tobea lived to see her son marry, which is very unlikely to happen in real life considering that she died as an adult. Through normal gameplay, she would have been more likely to have died as an elder.

According to Tobea's age data, she had 29 days left in the adult life stage when she died. Her facial structure is nearly identical to the 4th face template in Create a Sim. The only exception are her lips, which are thinner than the default lips.

Tobea is likely a pun on a famous quote from a speech given by Prince Hamlet: "To be, or not to be".
