PlumbBobs[ | ]
To encourage productive and thoughtful answers, all users are allowed to award (upvote or "thumbs-up" basically) PlumbBobs to other comments on the blog.
PlumbBobs can be awarded by:
- Selecting 'reply' to a comment made in response to the blog.
- Adding {{PlumbBob}} in the comment section (followed by a reply, if you wish to add one).
- Selecting 'post comment'.
One user may only award one PlumbBob to a comment, but a user may award as many PlumbBobs as they like to as many different comments as they prefer. There is no maximum limit on the number of PlumbBobs that any user can give or receive. Anonymous/unregistered users may give and receive PlumbBobs for their comments. There is no "negative" or "downvote" PlumbBob or "Anti-PlumbBob", and each "positive" PlumbBob is worth only one vote when tabulated. Unfortunately, due to the nature of blog post comments, only comments posted in direct response to the blog can be awarded a PlumbBob; you cannot give a PlumbBob to comments replying to other comments on the blog.
At the end of the month, the PlumbBobs awarded in the month's Monthly Question blog will be counted and totaled, and the most PlumbBobbed comments will be featured in the following month's Monthly Question blog. The authors of the top comments will also receive an award to post onto their user page. Anonymous/unregistered users may have their comments selected as top comments, but may not receive a user page award. For the purposes of selecting top comments and totaling PlumbBobs awarded, PlumbBobs added to a Monthly Question blog after the end of the month will not be counted.

Only PlumbBobs awarded before the end of the month are counted here, and are only counted once a particular month has ended.
