The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure is the sixth game pack for The Sims 4. It was announced in the first quarter teaser for 2018[1] and was released on February 27, 2018.[2] The console version was released on December 4, 2018.
Jungle Adventure features gameplay similar to The Sims 3: World Adventures and contains a pre-established storyline. Sims can book a vacation to Selvadorada, where they can develop their Selvadoradian culture skill and experience the Latin world. Sims can also go out into the jungle to traverse across large landscapes, developing their archaeology skill. In the jungle, they can hack through vines to find a temple, in which they must figure out how to work around various traps and skeletons to reach the grand treasure chest at the end.
The pack's title and official description were accidentally leaked by EA on February 6, 2018.[3]
After its release, the pack garnered controversy online as several players reported the jungle causing performance issues due to the larger size and detail of the world. EA silently addressed this in the following patch, which permanently changed the texture resolution for the entire game from 2048x2048 to 1024x1024 in an attempt to combat the lag experienced by players on lower end devices.[citation needed]

New gameplay mechanics[]
Jungle Adventure offers Sims a new vacation world to visit called Selvadorada, based on the Latin American region. It contains the vast Belomisia Jungle, which has hidden ruins to explore, treasure chests to loot, and ancient Omiscan temples with various puzzles and traps that Sims have to endure in order to get to the grand treasure. Alongside the jungle, Selvadorada includes a small settlement called Puerto Llamante Marketplace in which Sims can interact with locals and try out new food, raising their Selvadoradian culture skill. Sims can also purchase gear from the markets in order to be more prepared for the jungle.
The jungle of Selvadorada has different locations for Sims to explore, including waterfalls and other scenery containing bridges and passageways that can lead to natural pools, lagoons with fishing spots, overgrown gardens, and a plane crash site. These passageways usually require Sims to cut through vines that will lead them to an adventure in the form of chance cards. The jungle also contains natural dangers, such as bees and spiders, that can annoy unprepared Sims.
While Sims are exploring the jungle world, they may find collectibles in the form of ancient artifacts and treasure in treasure chests and dig piles. The new archaeology skill primarily focuses on digging up, authenticating, and studying ancient artifacts. Relic collectibles are also introduced. They are usually found in forms of relic bases and tops, which can be fused together with a refined crystal to create a mystical relic. Mystical relics contain various blessings and curses within them that Sims can use to their advantage or disadvantage.
Skeletons are introduced as a temporary life state and summonable NPC. They can be found in the temples, scaring any adventurers trying to get to the treasure. Skeletons can also be temporary helpers that can do chores and look after children while their parents are away. They can be summoned through a rare relic and do not have bladder, hunger, energy, or hygiene needs. Sims can become skeletons for two days through the use of a different relic.
Over 170 buy and build mode items are introduced, along with new Create a Sim clothing, hair, and accessories. Two new aspirations are included, Jungle Explorer and Archaeology Scholar, that focus on the world of Selvadorada. Two new lot traits are introduced as well, called "Creepy Crawlies" and "Peace and Quiet". Additions to the fish, fossil, crystal, and gardening collections have also been included.
