The Sims: Vacation[edit | edit source]
|Sili-Camp Tent Site|
|In this age of silicon chips and digital living, why must your campground visitors be forced to endure Stone Age sleeping conditions? Sili-Camp tents upgrade camping to the information age. Miracles in nano-technology and silicon granule simulation have been combined into "Smart Dirt." Auto-level surfacing. Body-conforming sand technology. Tent liner even repels insects with timed-release Dimethyl Critakil vapor release. You rent the tent- we do the rest!|

|Price in game||§499|
In The Sims: Vacation, tents are one of the lodging options available on Vacation Island. In the default lots, they will be found in the forest and beach areas. Tents rent for 79 Simoleons a night, and two Sims can sleep in one. When Sims who are sleeping in a tent wake up, they automatically change into the appropriate clothing for the area of Vacation Island they're in. Just having a hotel key doesn't allow Sims to use tents, but Sims that have hotel keys can rent them. While Rental Shack Zack talks of "checking out" when a tent is rented, what appears to happen is that the rental expires at 11:00 AM.

The Sims 4[edit | edit source]
Tents are featured in The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat, The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu and The Sims 4: Snowy Escape, and are useful for sleeping on public campgrounds but can also be used at home. On a residential lot they can bought in build mode, but as rental lots in Granite Falls do not give access to build mode, the player has to buy one from a nearby ranger station. There are two available tents: one small and one large. Tents can be put in inventories and placed anywhere in a neighborhood.
Alongside sleeping, napping and relaxing, teens and older can read the Wilderness Digest in a tent, which will give basic tips on how to vacation in Granite Falls. Sims can tell ghost stories within a tent, however, it is only available after 7PM and requires at least one other Sim to be inside the tent. Planning outfits is possible with a tent as well and it will bring the player to Create a Sim. Children can also play in the tent and older Sims can WooHoo in them. Like with beds, Sims who are feeling sad or embarrassed can either cry or hide in a tent to relieve their negative emotion. Patch 63 gave toddlers the possibility to sleep and play in tents.
