The Sims 2[]
Tea returns in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage and can be found on various far east lots as well as the Pagoda in the Shadows, home to the Wise Old Man. Drinking tea will reward the Sim with a Vacation memento. Serving tea to the Wise Old Man will make him tell the playable Sim the Dragon Tale, which Sims can tell to other Sims in order to earn another vacation memento.

Tea was reintroduced in University Life. Sims can brew various kinds of tea, each having a different effect, similar to juices in The Sims 2: Seasons.

The Sims 3 Store[]
The Old Miller Tea Time Tea Set is available as part of the Brunch at the Old Mill set in The Sims 3 Store. With this set, Sims can make a single cup of tea, or serve multiple cups of tea. If tea is served, up to four Sims can drink tea together, and doing so increases the relationship between Sims. Drinking tea increases hunger, energy, social, and fun needs.

The tea set is considered by Buy Mode as a dining table, despite not being possible to eat plate meals from. Mugs and cups are included in the table, but chairs must be placed manually around the table.
The Sims 4[]
In The Sims 4, tea can be used to achieve various emotional states when drunk. It functions similarly to coffee, but does not stave off loss of energy. There are six types of tea in the base game; Spa Day, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, and Jungle Adventure each introduce one more type of tea. Tea can be brewed with the "Tea Magic Personal Brewer", which can be purchased in build mode for §275. Brewing once provides three cups of the chosen tea type, and it will, like any other perishable consumable, spoil after 10 hours.
The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories adds two functional tea sets that allow Sims to serve tea without having to use the brewer. They provide six cups of tea at a time. The Sims 4: For Rent adds two kettles that can be used to brew tea, coffee, hot water, and hot cocoa. They provide five cups at a time.
The Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies adds the pottery skill in which Sims can craft their own functional tea sets.

Trivia[]
- "Earl Grey, Hot" is a reference to Star Trek: The Next Generation in which Captain Jean-Luc Picard would ask the replicator for Earl Grey tea with such a quote. The confidence boost may also be referencing the character's status as Captain or to "Boldly go where no one has gone before." The name of the moodlet is "Cup of Bold."
