So instead of something cool, or new. we get some rehashed slightly updated simbot which we already got this expansion...

To clarify my previous post, by expansion I meant the sims 3 as a whole.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.5.195.87 (talkcontribs) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

I have to admit, I was a little bit disappointed when I saw the Plumbots. The studio could have a bit a been more innovative with the last life state, but it's still a bit early to take a call on this one. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 03:51, July 26, 2013 (UTC)
I agree, Auror. In The Sims 2, compared to the other life states, witch is the most elaborate and complicated (not really complicated, but more complicated than the rest) life state. They have special magic skill, magical objects, hidden witch lot, and so on. I can see it when reading the prima guide.
Anyway... I'm only concerned that plumbots can't have offspring. The biggest letdown for mummies and SimBots was that they cannot have offspring and cannot age. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:57, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

I personally have been waiting for something like this. I don't usually try to age my SimBots or Mummy's anyway, or to reproduce them, so there's nothing wrong with this from my POV. Me!-Bwahaha! 15:02, July 26, 2013 (UTC)Hurshbr

But to me, it is a problem. :( Since Late Night, all succeeding life states have had this ability. And to be honest, this is an improvement compared to life states in The Sims 2. This is because I can't be bothered to keep turning anyone into a vampire once the older vampires have passed away. Genetics rule. Nikel Talk Vote! 09:17, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Replied

The plumbots look wonderful to me, since the Simbots were just sims in robot disguise. These creatures are rather obiously only true sims if you want htem to be, they can be just as well servants or money drones, no individuality at all. These are ideal robot slaves, not people, unless you want to devote their creation to making them people, which I cna and will, having a happy balance of Burglar Safety Bots and New Friend Drones. Furtheremore, why are you expecting robots to reproduce? They're robots! Plumbots are items, appliances, and possessions, in spirit, and onyl sims if you wan tthem to be, making them rather complex, especiallyu compared ot th eletdown known as the Simbot. All htose resources wasted when I could have just farmed lifetime happiness. 71.61.149.223 (talk) 21:24, September 24, 2013 (UTC)Guest

I tend to agree. I think they did it right the second time around. Although that itself is a bit bothersome. It's just like how those Logic potions were basically a rough draft for the Alchemy skill. It kind of feels like I bought the same thing twice and will only ever use one. — Lexmechanic (talk) 15:27, October 29, 2013 (UTC)

The Science of Plumbotics

So it turns out that with sufficiently high Science skill (level 8) you can ask a Plumbot for a DNA sample. You can then clone from sample at level 9. This results in a normal Sim baby, apparently free of any glitches or genetic defects. I found that rather interesting. — Lexmechanic (talk) 15:19, October 29, 2013 (UTC)

Looks like somebody -- or several somebodies -- overlooked something. Then again, we are talking about EA, so I should expect anything different? Dharden (talk) 15:32, October 29, 2013 (UTC)
Either that... or Plumbots are secretly based on forbidden cybernetic enslavement technology. You thought you had a robot servant, but they're actually Cybermen in disguise! — Lexmechanic (talk) 15:44, October 29, 2013 (UTC)
