Thanks! Dyas 21:01, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

That's strange...I just found out that the Grim Reaper (who is now the boyfriend of my female sim) got the trait of good sense of humour. Cat—Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.100.112.219 (talkcontribs) (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

My Grim Reaper has mean spirited, childish, easily impressed, evil, and flirty.-007Hazmatt

Grim Reaper's traits

Sorry for bumping this in. I'm not sure if Grim's traits are always randomized, as mine, whose trait I checked with Twallan's MC, has the same traits as Dyas. Since we couldn't find the consistency, we couldn't name the actual traits a Reaper has. Nikel Talk Vote! 17:57, January 28, 2013 (UTC)

I've only ever found out one trait from my Grim Reaper, it was inappropriate x'D 70.137.14.203 (talk) 21:15, April 10, 2014 (UTC)

I don't think we should add Grim's traits, they could be random in anyone's game. 94.1.199.141 (talk) 17:03, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Aspiration[]

I don't want to risk my game by moving in the Grim Reaper, but here's what I think. As you know, there are a total of 8 possible, non-broken aspirations in game, including Grow Up. In SimPE, you can assign Sim's aspiration, and there are 9 choices, the other one is "None." From what I get, when you set Sim's aspiration to Power with Sim Modder, it will have no icon, just like some other Sims who don't have aspirations. IMO, some of the old edits refer Sims with no aspiration to have Power aspiration (like Ron Condor), but I think they simply don't have aspiration, just like the other Sims. Revisit: Grim Reaper's Traits[]

While digging through the game's code, I happened to find out that the Grim Reaper's traits are actually fixed. The game picks 5 traits from the list of possible traits randomly. The list of possible traits that the Grim Reaper can may have is as following:

  • Absent-Minded
  • Bookworm
  • Brave
  • Childish
  • Couch Potato
  • Easily Impressed
  • Good Sense of Humor
  • Grumpy
  • Insane
  • Inappropriate
  • Kleptomaniac
  • Neat
  • No Sense of Humor
  • Neurotic
  • Evil
  • Mean Spirited

So yeah, a Grim Reaper may not exactly have "random" traits. I don't know why EA only restricted these traits, and some of them don't even have anything to do with the death (like Childish and Neat). Nikel Talk Vote! 14:00, November 22, 2013 (UTC)

the sims 1 grim reaper is a female

the sims 3 grim reaper is a sign taurus—Preceding unsigned comment added by Marek2000 (talkcontribs) (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

No proof of evidence that this information is real. It will not be kept in the article until you can back this up. K6ka (talk | contribs) 20:16, February 4, 2014 (UTC)
He was a Taurus for me as well. Not sure if coincidence. SirJorb (talk) 11:20, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Power or Fortune aspiration?[]

Does the Grim Reaper have the Power or Fortune aspiration? In-game it shows he has no icon for the aspiration which gives the idea he has the Power aspiration, so I want to ask this to make sure. Which one does he actually has? #♥ Yuuki ♥ 13:10, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

In SimPE he has the Power aspiration, but in-game he has the Fortune aspiration. We stick with the aspiration that he has in-game, since the information that shows up for object NPCs in SimPE is blank, and thus does not show his true aspiration, personality points or interests. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 20:56, December 2, 2014 (UTC)
I've checked, several months ago, and his aspiration may sometimes appear as the Power aspiration in-game, even though his aspiration is supposed to be Fortune. The same thing happens with other Universal NPCs, which makes it really confusing. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 21:18, October 16, 2015 (UTC)

I've just re-checked on a laptop, and apparently his aspiration only changes to something other than Power if the player adds him to a playable household, saves the game, exits, and then reloads the household. But it will be completely random, because I just re-checked, and this time the game changed the Grim Reaper's aspiration from Power to Family, instead of Fortune. I just tried doing the same thing with the Hula Zombie to see if the same result would happen to her. And her aspiration was also changed to Family. It appears that only the Therapist has a fixed aspiration - Knowledge - out of the Universal NPCs from the base game, although by default, he will still have the Power aspiration when viewed in SimPE. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:02, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

moving in sims 3 with all expansions[]

so I figured out how to move grim in even with all the expansion packs and I just figured I should share it some where I dont know where else to put this but here it is.

1. build up a friendship with him by killing tons of people on a lot and talking with him every time he stops to chat

2. get an alien to move in and have him kill grim with a meteor

3. go to the graveyard and manage the dead to get grims grave

4. get a witch with lvl 10 spellcasting to revive his gravestone (genie wish doesnt work, I dont think oh my ghost does)

5. unzombifiy him with either sun charm or potent cure potion

6. start talking to him and get him to thinks sim is being friendly

7. ask him to move in

This is the only method I have found that still works with all the expansion packs. This doesnt however give you his cloak since killing/resurrecting him changes his clothes to normal ones. 99.95.194.83 (talk) 01:38, July 27, 2016 (UTC)

Sims 3: Reaper's Voice[]

The reason for the Grim Reaper's voice being that plum default male voice is because of the fact that the game generates him as an NPC, and the Worlds/Towns do not have him "built-into" their file. Any newly generated Sims all share the same annoying default voice. This goes for all NPCs and Townies generated by the game over time.

Only by using the Mastercontroller mod can one fix the voice of the Grim Reaper to something more appropriate (Male Voice 3, set to the lowest pitch), whilst making sure he doesn't wear the incorrect clothing by deleting all outfits except for his "Everyday" one. Talk about lazy programming... Thanks EA... 2001:8003:3935:B600:55E4:4EB6:14DD:4C10 (talk) 00:17, July 23, 2017 (UTC)

The Grim Reaper has a very deep male voice by default, but once he becomes playable, his voice will change to the default male voice, so you're right. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:19, July 23, 2017 (UTC)
Still, his voice should stay deep when he moves in. It's a shame the programmers "forgot" to add some kind of voice diversifying variable for new townies. It becomes extremely jarring to hear the same voices over and over; even if it is just an NPC burglar. I shouldn't constantly have to resort to cheats just to prevent all the Sims in my town from sounding all the same. >:( 2001:8003:3935:B600:55E4:4EB6:14DD:4C10 (talk) 00:30, July 23, 2017 (UTC)

Question[]

How is called special skill in TS4 who have only Grim Reaper? —Preceding unsigned comment added by NatanTbg (talkcontribs) 15:16, November 18, 2017 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Sorry, it is not clear what exactly you are asking about. Please rephrase your question. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 15:41, November 18, 2017 (UTC)

Gender confusion[]

Throughout the article, the Grim Reaper is referred to as 'he' or 'him'. However, the template says his gender is ambiguous. Is there a reason for this? Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 11:46, May 19, 2018 (UTC)

If cheats or hacks are used to change the Grim Reaper's appearance in the mirror, the player will find that he has the appearance of a female, but the game recognises him as a male in most neighbourhoods. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:54, May 19, 2018 (UTC)
Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 07:36, May 20, 2018 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that if the player looks closely, he has a female portrait pose. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:54, May 20, 2018 (UTC)
