Split and rename[]

I suggest The Sims 4 section be split up into a different page. Technically, the aspiration in The Sims 4 is a completely different concept from The Sims 2. It's equivalent to lifetime wish and lifetime want. I think it should be separated because it basically has no relation with The Sims 2 aspiration at all, other than the technical name. It looks like that has already happened. The only thing left is to rename this page to the more game-specific Aspiration (The Sims 2). -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 16:50, June 13, 2014 (UTC)
I was going to rename this page, but I forgot. Personally, I think it's best to leave "Aspiration" to redirect to The Sims 2 one by default, instead of making a disambiguation page. It's because Aspiration is widely used in The Sims 2 as a major core feature of the game. The Sims 4 aspiration is a major feature too, but as a core feature, not as major as, you know, emotion.
Also, since there are only 2 instances of aspiration, making a disambiguation page is impractical. Nikel Talk Vote! 17:08, June 13, 2014 (UTC)
I disagree. Regardless of whether or not it's a "core" feature, The Sims 4 is going to be much more widely-played than The Sims 2 when it releases, and that means more people will be looking for information on The Sims 4 aspirations. So, when they search for aspirations, they're going to get redirected or "pushed" towards the TS2 aspiration information when they're really looking for TS4 aspirations.
And, if we do rename Aspiration to Aspiration (The Sims 2), setting up a disambiguation page is almost essential, since it's not really a good idea to choose one or the other to be the "default" page that is linked to from Aspiration. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 17:13, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

Bump - I've posted a move notice on the article to direct people to this page so we can resolve the question. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:33, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't notice your message here and renamed the page ahead. :/ Sooner or later this will be moved to Aspiration (The Sims 2) anyway. I guess I'd agree with your point to make a disambiguation page. We're gonna have to re-link all Aspiration to Aspiration (The Sims 2) in here first. I suppose your bot can do that. Cuisine Hobbyists and Aspirations[]

So I've come upon the bright idea to make the ultimate Simmy foodie: University graduate, Neat and Lazy (so the Sim will probably get Cuisine as their One True Hobby), plus Pleasure and Grilled Cheese for their Aspirations.  Unless I switch things around once the Sim reaches their Junior year in college (or unless I have the Sim deliberately flub the use of a ReNuYuSenso Orb, if I'm feeling impatient), then Pleasure will probably be the primary Aspiration and Grilled Cheese will be secondary.  The Sim writes a Restaurant Guide, and Cuisine enthusiasm goes up.  The Sim cooks, serves, conjures, licks, breathes on or does anything to do with grilled cheese sandwiches, and Cuisine enthusiasm goes up.  The Sim eats anything (grilled cheese sandwiches or otherwise), and Cuisine enthusiasm goes up.  But all of this means a lot of eating, and both Grilled Cheese's Bottomless Stomach benefit and Pleasure's Fast Metabolism benefit together will mean far fewer trips to the treadmill in order to keep the Sim fit, assuming that the two benefits do indeed stack together.  (Or is Simmy obesity really not such a bad thing?)

But now that I think about it, would it be better to whip out the ReNuYu doodad as soon as I can and make Grilled Cheese the primary Aspiration for this Sim?  Each Sim gets all four benefits from their primary Aspiration, but they can never get the fourth benefit from their secondary.  And if I'm trying to keep Cookie Chef the Simmy gourmet chef happy, healthy and enthusiastic as all get-out about food, wouldn't Grilled Cheese 4 (Conjure Grilled Cheese) be considerably more useful than Pleasure 4 (Rowdy Folk Song)?  Or am I overlooking something here?  BloodyBay from YouTube (talk) 03:41, May 6, 2018 (UTC)

This is not the correct place for such discussions. Please use the game discussions forum. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 12:04, May 6, 2018 (UTC)
Very well.  My apologies.
(A few years ago, I would have gladly asked the Mod the Sims forums first, but I won't be returning to that cesspool of negativity.  Maybe I'll have better luck here.  Thank you for the directions.)  BloodyBay from YouTube (talk) 11:34, May 7, 2018 (UTC)

This discussion should go on the Game discussions forum, rather than on this talk page. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 01:37, August 28, 2018 (UTC)
