Supernatural skeptic is a social trait introduced with The Sims 3: Supernatural. It conflicts with the Supernatural Fan trait.
There's a world of magic and unexplainable wonders out there, and Supernatural Skeptics don't care for any of it. That stuff might be exciting for some, but Supernatural Skeptics prefer the security and comfort of normality.
Attributes[]
- Supernatural Skeptics perform better in the business, political, law enforcement, and journalism careers.
- Supernatural Skeptics level up more slowly in the alchemy and spellcasting skills.
- Fortunes from e.g. the moondial or the fortune teller wagon will always seem like complete nonsense to Supernatural Skeptics and anything mystical will be dismissed as Magical Rubbish (A -10 moodlet for 2 hours).
- This includes potions made with the chemistry table.[TS3:G]
- They have no problems with fortunes from fortune cookies[TS3:WA] or crystal balls.[Store]
- Supernatural Skeptics will not like being around supernatural Sims, or even supernatural fans.
- They get moderately well along with Toad Sims, having no particular insults towards them besides the generic ones, and have no issues with giving them Toad Kisses.
- Many of the Supernatural Skeptic's social interactions related to expressing phobia or disbelief of other life states, are located under the "Friendly..." option category.
- How negatively life states react to them, depend on how relevant to them they are. For instance, ghosts will:
- React positively to "Brag About Freedom".
- Brush off "Enthuse About Witch Hunts" as they don't find it relevant, making the relationship score unchanged.
- React somewhat negatively to the generic statements "Complain About the Supernatural" and "Appreciate the Ordinary".
- React very negatively to "Suggest Moving On".
- How negatively life states react to them, depend on how relevant to them they are. For instance, ghosts will:
- Supernatural Skeptics cannot write in the horror genre.
- Supernatural Skeptics dislike playful pesters from fairies. Instead of laughing and having fun, Supernatural Skeptics will take out a fly swatter to try to swat at the fairy. This negatively affects the relationship of both Sims.
- Supernatural Skeptics get the "Scared" moodlet if they see Bonehilda.
