The Sims 2: Open for Business The Sims 3: Ambitions The Sims 4: Get Famous

Styling stations, or makeover stations, are objects in The Sims 2: Open for Business, The Sims 3: Ambitions and The Sims 4: Get Famous that Sims use to either give or receive makeovers.

The Sims 2: Open for Business

The Ug-No-More Makeover Station is found in the Comfort -> Misc. section of buy mode, though it cannot be used as a chair. If placed on an unowned community lot, it will spawn an NPC stylist, and the player will be able to either have the selected Sim get a makeover, or direct that Sim to give a Sim on the lot a free makeover.

The quality of a makeover given or received is determined by the stylist's Cosmetology talent badge level. Players should be aware that, while the NPC stylist show Gold badge proficiency on unowned community lots, it is likely that they will not actually have any Cosmetology talent badge.[confirmation needed]

The Sims 3: Ambitions

The Fuss no Muss Styling Station is required for the Stylist profession.

All salons have at least one, and they function in a similar way to the dresser. Using it to "Makeover Self" allows the player to change their Sim's clothing, hair, and makeup for free (much like the Plan Outfit and Change Appearance interactions on a dresser and mirror, respectively). "Get Stylist Makeover" makes the Sim purchase a random new outfit that does not replace their current one. Sims in the Stylist profession can use this to give makeovers to other Sims, although it is not required as makeovers from clients are performed at their own houses. If a stylist Sim is in a salon, they will be able to offer makeovers to any Sim on that lot

The Sims 4: Get Famous

The All-in-One Styling Station can be found in the Activities and Skills -> Recreation section of build mode. There are also a few available at Plumbob Pictures for actors to use to get into costume before filming starts. NPC stylists only spawn at Plumbob Pictures, but any Sim aged teen and older can be asked to give a makeover otherwise.

Sims can offer either a change in hairstyle, a change in makeup, or a full makeover. For hair and makeup, stylists will cycle through three random looks that Sims can choose to keep by cancelling the interaction. The styling station has no associated skill.
