Socially awkward is a social trait from The Sims 3: University Life. It conflicts with Charismatic and is first available from teens.
Socially Awkward Sims try to fit in, but sometimes say the wrong thing at the wrong time. It's not easy being Socially Awkward, but it sure is awkward!

- Socially awkward Sims can have awkward results from socializing with others. This affects even two Sims who are best friends or even romantic partners with each other at the highest levels of a positive relationship.
- Socially awkward Sims may miss opportune moments and mess up punchlines to jokes.
- Socially awkward Sims learn Science skill at a 15% faster rate.
- The socially awkward trait does not affect every social interaction, at least those added by other expansion packs. It usually affects more general interactions like "Chat", "Get to Know", "Argue", "Insult" (Teen insults don't seem to be affected), and "Flirt". However, more specialized socials like "Ask About Day" and "Tell Funny Story" can also be affected.

Socially awkward is a social trait from The Sims 4: High School Years. It conflicts with the outgoing and party animal traits. It is only available for teens and older.
These Sims tend to struggle in social situations and build charisma more slowly, but gain powerful Moodlets and Sentiments when they are able to overcome their awkwardness and accompanying nervousness to form close relationships.
