Snow may refer to snow found on Vacation Island in The Sims: Vacation, or a type of weather in The Sims 2: Seasons, The Sims 3: Seasons, The Sims 4: Seasons and The Sims 4: Snowy Escape.

The Sims: Vacation[]

On lots in the "winter" area of Vacation Island, snow replaces the typical grass on the ground. It has no depth, but can be sculpted using a snowman kit, or enjoyed by using the snowboarding half-pipe or the snow slide.

Snow refers both to the weather event, and to the precipitation that often accumulates on the ground, roofs, and outdoor fixtures after a snowstorm if temperatures are low enough. Snow in The Sims 2 can fall either as light snow (or flurries) or as heavy snow. After it has been snowing constantly for a time, the game will cover the ground and roofs of any structures with a thin layer of snow. If the snow continues, it will completely bury most parts of the ground (including items that may be sitting low on the ground, such as newspapers or shrubs), but will not accumulate on large paved surfaces like roads or driveways, or on water. After it has stopped snowing, the snow will begin to melt; after a while, the depth of the snow will decrease noticeably. If this trend continues, the snow will completely disappear and puddles of melted snow will remain in on the ground. If enough snow falls, particularly at night, school for young Sims may be canceled.

Besides covering the world in whiteness, and decorating evergreen trees and shrubs, snow can be enjoyed by Sims. Sims may choose to build snowmen, create snow angels or start a snowball fight with other Sims if the snow is deep enough. Activities in the snow can drop Sims' body temperature to dangerous levels relatively quickly, so moderation in the amount of activity is necessary, as well as ensuring that all Sims outside wear outerwear.

Snow will most likely fall during the winter season, but may also occur during late fall, and also in early spring. Brief snow flurries may occur on cold days in fall and spring. Snow should not be confused with hail, which can also accumulate on the ground.

The Sims 3: Seasons[]

The snow in The Sims 3: Seasons is similar to that in The Sims 2: Seasons, except that snow gradually accumulates on the ground. Sims can build snowmen, create snow angels or start a snowball fight with other Sims if the snow is deep enough. Aliens can also play in the snow; snowmen they build will be green. As in The Sims 2: Seasons, if heavy snow falls during the night, school may be canceled.

In addition to making snowman and snow angels, Sims can also build igloos. Sims can sleep inside an igloo or WooHoo in one. The igloo will melt when the temperature warms up.

On lots where the terrain has been dug deep enough, there is a small sweetspot altitude where snow will not accumulate on non-floored terrain, making it easier to e.g. play catch and other grass-related activities during winter or even during heavy snowfall.

The Sims 4: Seasons[]

Snow is a returning type of weather in The Sims 4: Seasons, mainly falling in the winter season. When it first starts snowing, Sims may have an autonomous reaction to go outside and witness the first snowfall. Unlike previous Seasons expansions, the snow does not accumulate and has no depth, instead being a simple flat layer over the regular terrain, roof and objects.[1] However Sims still leave footprints when they walk on snow. Pets will also leave pawprints.

Sims can build snowpals, make snow angels, and start snowball fights when there is enough snow on the ground. Sims can also shove snow in other Sims faces. As in previous games, the snow will melt once the temperature rises again.

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape[]

Snow is featured in the world of Mt. Komorebi, where Sims are able to ski, rock climb and snowboard and build snowmen. The Sims 4: Seasons is not a requirement for the snow to appear.
