Self-absorbed is a social trait that was introduced in The Sims 4: Get Famous. It is only available for teens and older.
"These sims [sic] are all about themselves! They can Fish for Compliments, are more excited when receiving a present, and may become tense when they haven't gotten enough attention. The celebrity spotlight is something they generally relish. After all, everyone else should love them as much as they do themselves, right?"

- Self-absorbed Sims can request compliments from other Sims with the "Fish for Compliments" interaction and receive a happy moodlet from it.
- Self-absorbed Sims will become tense if they don't perform social activities in a while and unlike other Sims without the trait, will become tense instead of sad if their social need is low. (Orange, they will still become very sad if it reaches red).
- Self-absorbed Sims rejoice when they are given gifts and will always become happy when given gifts.[TS4:S]
- Self-absorbed Sims will become very angry if other Sims forget to celebrate their birthday.
- Like self-assured Sims, self-absorbed Sims remain confident when applying in universities instead of being tense.[TS4:DU][n 1]

- ↑ Strangely, recent patches no longer having the "Awaiting University Acceptance" moodlet for young adults and older — most likely a bug. Only teens (who are graduated early from high school) will receive the aforementioned moodlet if The Sims 4: High School Years installed.
