The ZRX-9000 Science Research Station is a skill object introduced in The Sims 3: University Life. It can be found in "Entertainment" → "Hobbies & Skills" in Buy Mode.
Science research station can be used to increase a Sim's science skill, and as the skill level increases, more actions become available. In very rough order from least to most required levels:
- Research science.
- Perform various experiments on collectibles, such as radiation experiment, gene splicing experiment, horticulture experiment, and so on.
- Horticulture experiments are known to be able to cook empanadas, a meal exclusively available through this experiment (unless Late Night and/or Into the Future are also installed, which offer additional cooking methods).
- Clone objects using scientific samples, which is a very powerful tool that can be used to clone rare and expensive collectibles.
- Cook the Super Spicy Sauce for use as food seasoning or to change a PlantSim into a human Sim.
- Create Sim baby clones from DNA samples that instantly join the active household.
The object can be upgraded to become unbreakable with the Handiness skill.
