The Sims 3
This is where Sims can get a job in the Science Career, attend Logic, Gardening, Inventing, Science and Scuba Diving classes. Sims can also tour the science lab. If a Sims is collecting insects they can sell them as specimens to the lab. Donating insects is slightly more rewarding than selling them via the inventory, so it is worth the trip. Sims can WooHoo in these rabbit holes, but they might get caught by security and be asked to leave. This is also one of the properties Sims can partner with and own in The Sims 3. It's the most expensive but also the most profitable. If Ambitions is installed, the firefighter profession has a special disaster, which is a Space-Time Rift, and Sims can go join the Ghost Hunter profession at the science lab. If Seasons is installed, aliens can get a part-time job as an Alien test-subject at the science lab, and they can also steal space rocks from the lab between 8 PM and 6 AM.
Generally, a science lab is often combined with a hospital in a multi-purpose rabbit hole.
Science labs generate the following red map tag in-game:
The Sims 4: Get to Work
Science labs return in The Sims 4: Get to Work as a special lot assignment, accessible for Sims working in the scientist career. There is only one science lab in the game, which is located in the Scientist Neighborhood sub-neighborhood. The lot assignment can't be given to other lots without mods, so they are not available anywhere else.
