The Sims: Unleashed[]

Steve the Happy Scarecrow
Scarecrow TS1
Steve's a guy who gets things done, he dances in the morning sun. When rodents come to eat your crops, he runs 'em off, he's like the cops. He'll keep your veggies nice and whole, he'll stay alert atop his pole. When your garden's a loss and causing frustration, he makes a darn good decoration.

"Stuff Me Silly" Scarecrow from McKraken Industries
Scarecrow TS2Seasons
This scarecrow is perfect for keeping the birds company on those long harvest nights. Jam packed with over 200 pounds of hay and stuffing, you could practically feed a whole herd of livestock if you had one. If you are able to physically place this overladen scarecrow in a location that pleases you, you won't be disappointed. The "Stuff Me Silly" Scarecrow is just another weighty innovation from the folks at the McKraken.

Scarecrows are a decorative object in The Sims 2: Seasons that functionally serve no purpose. Sims can view the scarecrow and laugh at it, but if they view it enough times, the scarecrow will scare the Sim. The scarecrow has an environment rating of 1.[TS2:S]

If The Sims 2: FreeTime is installed, viewing the scarecrow will raise hobby enthusiasm for nature.[TS2:FT]

The Sims 3: Seasons[]

Scarecrow
Scarecrow Sims 3
This pumpkin-headed fellow has one job to do, and he does it very well: scare all the critters. Just stand him up near any crops you want to protect and he'll go to work immediately. Actually, some people even think he does his job a little too well. Maybe it's best not to stand too close...

Scarecrows function similarly to those in The Sims 2, and will come alive if Sims view them for a long enough period of time. They may scare the viewer or attempt to do a silly dance. Scarecrows are also automatically placed on festival grounds in the fall. They have an environment score of 8.

The Sims 4: Seasons[]

Patchy the Straw Man
Patchy the Straw Man is made out of straw. He doesn't have hands. Not even a paw. But Patchy has patches and a big pumpkin hat. Put Patchy near plants and they'll grow just like that! The crows all love Patchy, he's a funny old rogue. Why's Patchy so scratchy? Because straw is in vogue.

Scarecrows are reintroduced in The Sims 4: Seasons in the form of an NPC called Patchy the Straw Man. When first purchased, Patchy is inanimate; Sims can chat with Patchy and build a relationship with him, after which he will come alive and help tend the gardens. Like in previous games, Patchy can scare Sims if they view him for too long. Sims can ask Patchy for gardening tips to increase their gardening skill and collect seeds from his pockets. As long as Patchy maintains a good relationship with the Sims, he will stay alive and continue to help out.
