Santana Contender is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the grandson of Lando and Kadri, the son of Alonzo and Marisela Contender (née Ellis), the husband of Magdalena Contender (née Destraga), the younger brother of Carlos, the father of Isabel Baldwin (née Contender), and the grandfather of Sofia and Marcus Baldwin.
Santana is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Romance aspiration and the Virgo zodiac sign. As far as personality, he is very neat, somewhat active, and a little bit nice, but he is very shy and quite serious.
According to Santana's SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was blond before it turned gray. According to his age data, he had 17 days left in the elder life stage when he died. Santana uses the 4th, 17th, and 27th Maxis face templates in Create a Sim. The ears and mouth use the 4th face template, the eyebrows and nose use the 27th template, and the eyes and jaw use the 17th template. Also, the jaw is shorter than on the default template. However, the jaw is only shorter on teenage, adult, and elder males, which may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down.
Santana's SimDNA in SimPE shows that his recessive alleles are for red hair and brown eyes. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. However, he still has memories of his daughter's birth, as well as her getting engaged and married. Strangely, he has the memory of meeting his granddaughter, but doesn't have the memory of meeting his grandson. Deceased Sims who can be resurrected in-game will usually receive the memory of meeting their grandchildren, regardless of whether they have actually met each other physically. If the player uses the HoodChecker to fix Belladonna Cove and restore the graves in the neighborhood, it will be discovered that he died a timely death, as he has a golden grave, along with his paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, and mother.
His name, Santana, and his older brother's first name, Carlos, might have been a reference to the famous Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana. According to his daughter's memories, he died right after the birth of his grandson. While it isn't explicitly stated that Santana is the younger brother of the two, both of his parents' memories state that Carlos was born first. However, neither Santana nor Carlos has memories of the other one joining the family, so the evidence that Santana is the younger of the two isn't exactly strong.
