Sammy García (also known as The Ring Bear) is a pre-made NPC Sim who appears in The Sims 4: Lovestruck. He wears a sad bear costume and wanders around the park in Ciudad Enamorada. As he is a hidden NPC, he does not appear in the manage households menu when the game starts. Sammy appeared in promotional material for Lovestruck, such as the reveal trailer.
Sammy is romantically attracted to both men and women, and he is exploring romantically. His WooHoo preferences also include both men and women.
Sammy has a quest that rewards in a special ring to help with romantic interactions. Before doing his quest, Sims can have unique interactions with him, such as "ask about bear costume", "ask about sadness", and "pity hug". Selecting "ask about sadness" will reveal that Sammy threw his special ring in the heart-shaped pond in the park. The player Sim will have to go fishing in order to get the ring back. Once retrieved, the player Sim has to examine the ring, explaining unique carvings on the inside that Sammy might be able to read, prompting the Sim to go back to Sammy and ask about the ring. He will explain that the carvings have something to do with the fountain in Plaza Mariposa. The player sim will have to look at clues there, which reveals some markings and then return to him. Sammy will explain that the markings have to do with the mural in the Vista Hermosa neighborhood. The player Sim will need to travel there and find the mural, then use the "look for clues on the wall" interaction on it. This will reveal the ring's powers, which gives the target a moodlet called "Ring Rizz" for three hours, which makes romantic interactions more successful. After each use, the ring will have to recharge for a few hours.
After learning about the ring's powers, the player Sim can plead for an explanation to Sammy for why he wears the bear suit. This will result in him explaining that he wears it as a way to cope for a recent breakup, and then realizes that he can finally take it off. This will cause Sammy to no longer be The Ring Bear. He'll no longer wear the bear suit and instead wear everyday clothes. This will also unlock all normal interactions, allowing the player to romance him or move him into their household.

Trivia[]
- Sammy is given two random bonus traits in every save he is in. However, he always has the same aspiration.
- Sammy mentions in dialogue that he had the I'm a Bear! childhood phase when he was a child and his mother would wear a bear suit with him.
- His phase can also be seen in his milestones.
- He claims to have a brother named Sunny who liked to dress up as a clown, who is most likely the Tragic Clown.
- The description for Villa Cálida implies his full name is Samuel, and he was in love with someone named Claire, which may be a reference to Claire the Bear.
- Similarly to Claire the Bear, Sammy will have conversations with teddy bears and will cry if he sees a bearskin rug.
- His bear suit has a broken heart symbol on its belly, which may be a reference to the Care Bears franchise and its signature Belly Badges, which often include hearts. The blue color and sad expression could specifically be inspired by Grumpy Bear, who represents sad feelings and how they're a natural part of life.
- There's a contradiction to the gender of Sammy's former lover in his dialogue. When first asked about why he's sad, he will say that fishing "was always her thing", implying that he was engaged to a woman. This is supported by the description for Villa Cálida, as stated above, which implies that he was engaged to someone named Claire, who was presumably a woman. However, later in the questline, he will refer to his lover as his "fiancé", which is the male spelling of the word.
- Most likely, this contradiction is a developer oversight where they intended to use the female-variant fiancée as opposed to fiancé, the male-variant.
- It is also possible that Claire is gender-fluid and identifies alternatively as male or female.
