Ruth Bell (née Zingel) is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during her lifetime in Desiderata Valley, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: FreeTime. She was the daughter of Nathan and Melissa Zingel, the wife of Bartholomew Bell, the mother of Issac Bell, and the grandmother of Daniel Bell. Ruth is completely resurrectable, even though she doesn't have a grave. She has the Knowledge aspiration, and the Scorpio zodiac sign. As far as personality, Ruth is very active, somewhat neat, and a little bit outgoing. But she is quite serious and grouchy. Ruth is one of the few ancestral Sims to die as an adult, so she died a premature death. According to her age data, she had 29 days left in the adult life stage when she died.

Ruth uses the 26th Maxis face template in Create a Sim, except the eyes which use the 4th face template. Also the jaw is longer than on the default face, though it is only longer on teenage, adult, and elder female Sims. This may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down. Ruth's SimDNA in SimPE shows that her recessive genetics are for black hair and light blue eyes.

She died shortly after Issac became adult, according to her son's memories. Ruth taught him all the toddler skills, excluding Nursery Rhyme. Issac's memories show that Ruth died right after her husband did, which suggests that she may have been much younger than him. A similar thing happens with Talbot Contrary. An oddity with Ruth is that, when viewing Issac's family tree, she does not appear to have parents. This is apparently due to an oversight when the family was created. Nathan and Melissa were set as Ruth's parents, but Ruth was not set as their child. This can be fixed with SimPE. Ruth starts off with a Sealed Tight Bug Box by Encase Your Phyla in her inventory.

Resurrection tip
