The Sims 3Edit

|Game||The Sims 3: Supernatural|
|Price in game||§350-§630|
In Supernatural there are three different designs which are wooden, antique, and modern; all of which can be found in Living Chairs under Comfort in buy mode. Another style of rocking chair is available in The Sims 3 Store. They take up a 2x1 area of space and cannot be blocked by an object in front.
Rocking chairs enable a Sim to rock while sitting, restoring both energy and fun slowly. Instead of having the "Sit" interaction like any other chair, rocking chairs have the "Rock" interaction. Sims can read a book or take a nap while rocking, and they can also hold babies or toddlers.
List of rocking chairsEdit
- The "Nap" interaction may be more efficient than most beds' "Sleep" interactions in some cases, taking two naps to fill up a Sim's energy.
- Taking a nap will not remove the "Enjoying the Late Night" moodlet from the night owl trait.
- Rocking chairs give players a method to combat the fun drop from reading a skill book.
- A rocking chair can be unlocked in The Sims FreePlay after the player builds a children's store.
The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting StuffEdit

|Game||The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting Stuff|
|Price in game||§120-§145|
Nifty Knitting Stuff comes with four different variations of a rocking chair, including one with both armrests and a pillow, one with a pillow and no armrests, one with armrests and no pillow, and one with neither. Like the rocking chairs of The Sims 3, they take up a 2x1 area of space and must not be blocked by an object in front. All four chairs have a comfort score of 3.
Sims aged toddler and older have the option to sit on rocking chairs. Children and older can rock while doing other activities, such as reading, knitting, talking and eating. Children and toddlers can also play on rocking chairs. Napping on rocking chairs is only available to lazy Sims.
Elders have the option to reminisce about their pasts while sitting on a rocking chair. Reminiscing grants moodlets of varying emotions, depending on whether the elder was reminded of a good or bad memory.
