Ripp Grunt (later known as Corporal Ripp Grunt) is the middle child of General Buzz Grunt and the late Lyla Grunt. His older brother is Tank Grunt and his younger brother is Buck Grunt. He works part-time in the Slacker career track, as a Gas Station Attendant.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 2

Unlike General Buzz and Tank, Ripp does not have an interest in the military. Also, he is the only member of the household to have any playful points. Ripp does not get along well with his father and Tank and has a negative relationship with them both but he is friends with Buck. He is friends with Ophelia Nigmos and has a high relationship with Johnny Smith, though they are not friends yet. He is a Romance Sim but he doesn't have any romances when the family is first played.

At the start of the game, he is 8 days away from becoming an adult. His aspiration will be in mild red. Ripp is voiced by Jack Conte, when he becomes an adult, he will be voiced by David Boat. Like a few other pre-made Sims, Ripp has a mismatched personality and star sign. His personality matches that of a Libra but his star sign is Sagittarius. Ripp has brown hair and dark blue eyes, but also carries recessive alleles for blonde hair and grey eyes. In his default thumbnail, his teeth are not properly shown, this can be fixed by changing his appearance in the mirror.

He also was taught all his toddler skills by Lyla, but grew up badly. This may indicate that he had no particular wants to learn them, which is unusual for a toddler.

Life leading up to The Sims 2 (PSP)

He is also featured in The Sims 2 (PSP) as an adult. Evidently, his relationship with Tank has gotten worse since The Sims 2, probably because of the large difference in rank with his older brother (He is a corporal while Tank is a colonel). When you first see him on the PSP, he is being constantly attacked by Tank and talking to him will reveal he is beaten up regularly by him and has gotten "used" to it. He says he is a "useless, good-for-nothing" quartermaster, quoting his father. He seems a lot shyer compared to his PC counterpart, with his personality and mannerisms. Ripp is the shop vendor for Division 47 and sells a variety of items including gumflowers and bulbs. Strangely, while Ripp has brown hair and dark blue eyes in The Sims 2, he has black hair and brown eyes in the PSP version.

According to the game's data, Ripp's interests include Food, and, unlike his PC counterpart, Politics and Sci-Fi.

Ripp's secrets from The Sims 2 (PSP):

• (Personal): Ripp always loves to look at the stars... until he walks into a lamppost.
• (Intimate): Ripp lost much of his body hair in an experimental blow-dryer incident.
• (Dark): Ripp's debilitating fear of toilets was caused by one too many swirlies as a child.
• (Innocent Victim): Ripp's brother beats him up regularly, even though they are both adults.

Life leading up to The Sims 4

An official Maxis recreation of Ripp and his family was uploaded to the The Sims 4 Gallery on February 28, 2019, marking the 19th anniversary of The Sims. In this timeline, Ripp is the same age as Tank (both will become young adults in 12 days) and he is friends with everyone in his family. His aspiration is also inconsistent with The Sims 2; he appears to be more interested in making friends than finding lovers and has the friend of the world aspiration. Unlike the remakes of the Newbie family and the Pleasant family on the Gallery, Ripp has several skill points in a variety of different areas such as guitar and vampire lore. He also carries incomplete homework in his inventory.
