A restaurant podium or host station is a community lot object in The Sims: Hot Date, The Sims 2: Nightlife, The Sims 2: Open for Business and The Sims 4: Dine Out. It is one of the essential amenities for running a restaurant, that staffs a host who seat dining Sims.

The Sims: Hot DateEdit

A restaurant system is first introduced in The Sims: Hot Date. With it, comes two variations of podium: the cheap one (Bel-Air Series Podium) and the expensive one (Gastronomer Restaurant Podium). The number of podiums spawns the same number of waiters/waitresses and chefs. For the restaurant to function, a podium must be in the same room where the dining tables with chairs are located. Dining sims make and leave orders near by the podium and will line up in front of it.

The Sims 2Edit

A restaurant podium is reintroduced first in The Sims 2: Nightlife, with a new additional one offered in The Sims 2: Open for Business. The host will be on duty, either seating hungry Sims or answering calls from the podium if free.

In an owned community lot, customers will look at the menu while deciding by the podium whether to dine or opt out of the offer. During this time, sales interactions can be performed by any household member or any employee working in sales. Additionally, the restaurant podium can be used to assign employees or household members to work as hosts or servers, and can be used to change the menu and the prices of each individual dish.

"Gastronomique" Restaurant PodiumEdit

"Gastronomique" Restaurant Podium
Famous Restaurateur Charles Gast once said, "The surest way to enjoy a meal is to start it." With those timeless words in mind, he created this classic restaurant podium. Whether placed in a high-class bistro or a family-style diner, it is the unavoidable starting point for your dining experience.

Podium of BonnappitizonEdit

Podium of Bonnappitizon
Podiums were invented in Ancient Rome to counteract the randomly wandering restaurant guests known as the Restagoths. Shaped in the form of Bonnappitizon, the Restagoth god of hospitality, this podium caused the rampaging hordes to queue up politely and wait for a table, thus bringing a quick end to their civilization. All praise Bonnappitizon!
