Work Days[]
There are multiple types of work days reapers can have:
- Death Determination - The usual job reapers will have, after scrying for their assignment at the department and travel, they will arrive at the scene and a randomly generated Sim will be dead on the ground, it's the reapers job to determine their cause of death and then reap their soul. Sometimes the Grim Reaper will be available for questions and help, and sometimes there could also be witnesses to the death you need to interview and console.
- The Choice - A unique version where reapers will arrive on a scene and a pre-made Sim will be dead on the ground. The reaper will once again need to determine cause of death but for this job they will need to listen to the plea of a witness and the player themselves determines on if they want to revive or reap the soul of the Sim. This job can cause the death of a pre-made Sim from any of the existing worlds.
- Department Malfunction - When the reaper appears at their job, there is a chance they will arrive at the Netherworld Department in a chaotic state with multiple netherworld rifts, a mischevious ghost haunting, and the netherworld portal as well as scrying bowls will be broken. It's up to the working reaper to cleanup and repair the messes using their skills of handiness or even magic[TS4:ROM]
- Lost Soul Cleanup - After scrying for a location, one job could entail the reaper appearing on a lot where netherworld rifts and lost souls are abundant all over, as well as a mysterious plant called Grimbrosia sprouting. The reaper's job is to clean up the place and take the souls to deliver it back to the department and also cook a Grimbrosia meal with the plants.

Trivia[]
- When The Sims 4 launched, the Reaping skill which was a 10 level skill that only the Grim Reaper had maxed out, players could also access this skill through cheats but it wouldn't offer any additional gameplay nor had uses. This skill was assumed for giving the ability to reap souls but was removed in an unknown patch. This reaper career can be seen as a reincarnation of that idea as it allows normal Sims to access the power of reaping.
- When doing a death determination job, one option on something to do with the corpse is "Check pockets", which does not help determine the cause of death, but earns a small bit of money. This is a reference to the film "The Princess Bride", where Miracle Max claims that the only thing you can do to someone that's 'all dead' (as opposed to 'only mostly dead') is "Go through his clothes and look for loose change".
