Ports are the building blocks of a houseboat included in The Sims 3: Island Paradise. Isla Paradiso has plenty of pre-made ports around town, however, you can build your own ports from scratch in any town using the Stilted Foundations. Additionally, you can save any of the pre-made ports to the neighborhood bin via Edit Town Mode, and then place them on lots in other worlds.
Use and types
In order to move onto a houseboat, it is required that you select a port first. You can move onto any of the pre-made ports with houseboats, but you can also build your own houseboat from scratch, so long as you have selected a barge or bow for the port.
