Pleasantview is one of the three pre-made neighborhoods that ships with The Sims 2. In theory, it is the neighborhood from the original The Sims game 25 years later. It is also mentioned that Gunther Goth founded Pleasantview. There are a total of 23 lots in Pleasantview, and there are another 11 houses in the Lots and Houses Bin. Furthermore, there are 8 pre-made families living in the neighborhood. It is likely that the name "Pleasantview" refers to the town called Pleasantville in the 1998 film Pleasantville. As well as the town's name, one of the pre-made Sims, Mary-Sue, was a main character in the movie. Also, Main Street and Elm Street were part of Pleasantville as well as Pleasantview. It could also be a refer to a city in California called Pleasanton due to the water which could be the Sacramento River. In The Sims 3, the equivalent neighborhood is called Sunset Valley.
Names
