As the household name suggests, they appear to be a couple who are frugal. Clark does have the Frugal trait, and he has the desire to earn money from stealing. On the other hand, Penny doesn't have any traits related to being a frugal person other than her name, which is a pun of a thrifty person. According to her bio, Penny wants to be famous and live the high life, but she has no motivation to do so. Her lifetime wish Is to befriend many sims which suits her personality. Penny appears to be a very social person, which is quite different from her roommate.

Both she and Clark work part-time for a living however, they both have bad job performances, which might cause them to get fired if they don't fix them soon.
