Oberon Summerdream (né Gossamer) is a member of the Summerdream family, living in Veronaville in The Sims 2. He is an NPC fairy, however, in The Sims 3: Supernatural. The other Summerdream family members are not present, but it is possible to create them in the game.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 3

In The Sims 3: Supernatural, Oberon Summerdream is a homeless fairy living in Moonlight Falls. Since fairies have delayed aging, this could explain how Oberon can still be alive in The Sims 2. Strangely he and Titania are married in The Sims 3: Supernatural, while they are not married in The Sims 2, which is supposed to be the sequel.

In this game, he has the athletic trait, but in The Sims 2, he is extremely lazy. He also has commitment issues, whereas he wants to get married to Titania at the start of The Sims 2.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

Oberon Summerdream is a pre-made Sim living in Veronaville in The Sims 2. He is the son of Sprite Gossamer and Zephyretta Gossamer, the lover of Titania Summerdream, and the adoptive father of Puck and Bottom Summerdream. Oberon and Titania are unmarried at the start, but both of them wish to get engaged. He is employed in the Slacker career as a Home Video Editor, which is an unusual career choice, given that his aspiration is Knowledge. Oberon's appearance, like his family, is similar to that of an elf or a fairy. He and his family have high relationships with both the Capp family and the Monty family, making them the neutral party in the feud. When first is played, he is 27 days from becoming an elder. Oberon is voiced by Dave Boat.

He had WooHoo with Titania before they adopted their children, which could mean that he or Titania may have discovered that they were infertile, causing Puck and Bottom's adoption. Being an infertile Sim is technically impossible, but for a storyline it may have been intended for Oberon and Titania to seem infertile. Strangely Oberon has no memories of his children growing up. Even more unusually, his memories state that Bottom was a toddler at the same time Puck was. This was probably a mistake by the creators. Because Oberon has reached level 7 of the Slacker career, he has a Slacker career reward available for him to purchase.

His default thumbnail shows the clothes in low resolution, this can be fixed by changing his appearance in the mirror. If The Sims 2: FreeTime is installed, Oberon's predestined hobby will be cuisine. Strangely, if Oberon's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, he will be thin instead of fit. The reason for this is because he has the fitness texture for thin Sims instead of the one for fit Sims. This implies that he was originally thin and his fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for him to have the fitness texture for fit Sims without hacks is by having him overeat until he becomes thin, and then have him workout until he is fit again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.

His name is taken from Oberon, King of the Fairies, in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
