Nick Knack is a pre-made adult Sim who resides in Twinbrook, the world introduced in The Sims 3: Ambitions. He lives with his wife Pattina and their daughter Julienne, who is a young adult, in a wealthy residence at 26 Puddlewick Drive. Nick is said to be the "glue of the family." He has the Can't Stand Art trait, which conflicts with Pattina's Artistic trait. They however share the Perfectionist trait. His name is a pun on knick-knack, a term referring to a small, usually decorative trinket. When Twinbrook is first played, he is 11 day away from being an elder.

Nick works in the Medical career as a Trauma Surgeon at the start of the game. He wishes to be reach the top level of that career. When first played, Nick's career performance reaches the top, which means the first time he goes to work, he will instantly get promoted. He only has decent skills however, having four points in the logic skill. Nick only knows some people in Twinbrook, but none of them are friends or acquaintances.
