Morgyn Ember is a pre-made NPC spellcaster residing as the default Sage of Untamed Magic in The Magic Realm, the hidden neighborhood shipped with The Sims 4: Realm of Magic. They are a young adult, 28 days away from becoming an adult.
Morgyn's spellcaster rank is Virtuoso, the highest rank. They are the only pre-made Sim from the pack who have no skills set. They have a masculine frame, a preference for feminine clothing, are unable to become pregnant or get other Sims pregnant, and cannot use the toilet standing up.
Morgyn is friends with fellow sages Simeon Silversweater and L. Faba, as well as Grace Anansi and Tomax Collette. They are also acquainted with Minerva Charm and Emilia Ernest. Morgyn also appears on the cover artwork of Realm of Magic.
A new Sage of Untamed Magic will be generated to take Morgyn's place if they die or are moved into a household. According to the trailer, Morgyn was preceded by Tess Dyer as the Sage of Untamed Magic.
Gender Identity[]
Morgyn's gender settings are customized in Create a Sim with the inability to get pregnant nor get anyone pregnant and having a feminine clothing preference. This led to some disagreements within the community about whether or not Morgyn is (or is intended to be) non-binary, transgender, and/or intersex.
The Sims 4 does not include the option to place Sims outside of the male/female binary. Fundamentally, all Sims in The Sims 4 are, according to the game code, either male or female, regardless of further gender customization. Within the game, Morgyn is recognized as male. Whether Maxis intended for Morgyn to be a specific gender identity like non-binary, transgender, and/or intersex is unknown, aside from Morgyn's pronouns being "they/them."
Many simmers have referred to Morgyn with the pronouns "they/them" since the release of the Realm of Magic game pack. Patch 129 added the ability to select what pronouns a Sim uses. In this patch, Morgyn's pronouns were not explicitly set and the gender's default was used (which is masculine, in Morgyn's case). As of Patch 150, Morgyn's pronouns are "they/them" in new saves, if the game language is set to English. In conclusion, they are non-binary.
