Miranda Capp is a pre-made playable Sim residing in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She is the eldest child of Goneril and Albany and the older sister of Hal, Desdemona and Ariel. Her family can be found in the family bin and can be moved anywhere in the town. Her cousins are Tybalt, Juliette and Hermia. When the first is first played, Miranda is 13 days from becoming an adult. She is voiced by Thessaly Lerner, when she becomes an adult, she will be voiced by Zoe Galvez.
Miranda's biography states that she is cynical and rebellious. Her younger sister, Desdemona, wants to be like her; she is her role model. She is the only pre-made Sim from the base game with custom hair, as her hair is golden blonde with dark brown highlights. Even though Miranda has blonde eyebrows, her SimDNA in SimPE shows that her natural hair color is red. She also has the recessive allele for green eyes. Despite the family feud, Miranda has a crush on Mercutio Monty, but the feeling isn't mutual. She will often want to get a job in the slacker career as is common for romance Sims. If FreeTime is installed, her predestined hobby will be science.
Miranda's grandfather, Consort, remembers Miranda being born as his first grandchild. However, in-game, Miranda is younger than Tybalt and Juliette. Oddly enough, her father's memories place Miranda as the family's third child (Hal and Desdemona come first and second, respectively; Ariel is fourth). Goneril's memories place her children's births in the correct order. When editing in SimPE, Miranda's zodiac sign is not recognized. This could explain why she doesn't have a zodiac sign mismatch in-game like most pre-made playable Sims from the base game do.
Strangely, if Miranda's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, she will be thin instead of fit. The reason for this is because she has the fitness texture for thin Sims instead of the one for fit Sims. This will become more apparent when she grows into an adult. This implies that she was originally thin and her fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for her to have the fitness texture for fit Sims without hacks is by having her overeat until she becomes thin, and then have her workout until she is fit again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.

Early in development, when Veronaville was still known by its N005 format, Miranda is listed as N005_User00031 �:- Mánda_objt within the lot data of 111 Stratford Street and 19 Chorus Court. Her character file is first known as N005_User00031 - Miranda_ob within the lot data of 95 Bard Boulevard. Considering this garbled text with odd symbols occurs in the lot data with other Sims, this may have an issue with how the lot data was saved.
Some speculate that this could have been a separate character called Mánda and it could account for the inconsistencies with family memories. Miranda could have possibly overwritten Mánda's character file which may mean that Mánda was possibly Consort Capp's first born grandchild, whilst Miranda was created after Hal & Desdemona, when Mánda was deleted, making her the third child of Albany and Goneril. However, based on the Sim creation order and Mánda's User number, she was not created alongside Caliban & Cordelia. It is more likely that the age inconsistency is due to Tybalt having once been Albany and Goneril's first born child and when the developers retconned the story to move Tybalt to Consort's household, they had made an oversight in Consort's memories like we see with many other inconsistent memories in Veronaville. Mánda also does not fit the naming convention of Veronaville Sims since there are no characters in Shakespeare's plays with that name.
