Mesa Flats
Mesa Flats
Stephen Loyal is an accomplished SimCity chef who leads a quiet and ordered life in the desert suburb of Mesa Flats. Lately he's been unusually busy getting ready for his cousin's wedding and helping his employer Julianne cater the annual Mesa Flats Midnight Masquerade ball. Little does Stephen know that his life is about to get turned upside down...

Erin and Buster, despite the species difference, are practically perfect for each other. Erin hopes one day to find a spouse that will also be good for Buster.
§3,721
Gordon Fetching
Gordon is the newest arrival to make a splash on the Mesa Flats singles scene. He keeps such a high profile that some wonder if he can really be all that he seems.
§7,954
Mena Kennedy, Randall Kennedy, Claws Kennedy
Mena and Randall are a high-energy power couple that regularly make the scene in Mesa Flats. With four wandering eyes between them, can trouble be far of?
§88,879
Stephen Loyal
Stephen works as a chef at the renowned SimCity restaurant Julianne's. He tends to be set in his ways, but he's recently become open to more outside influence in his life.
§31,556
Rachel Ware
Rachel came to Mesa Flats to observe its famed nightlife, and possibly become a part of it by opening her own business.
§52,550
Sal Zugovich, Greta Zugovich
Greta and Sal came to Mesa Flats years ago with two ambitions; to open a restaurant and a museum. These seemingly separate dreams met on the only available lot they could afford and became Sal's Bratwurst and Culture.

Family bin families[]

§20,000
Theda Gilbert
Theda came to Mesa Flats to experience a more relaxed and less crowded nightlife than SimCity had to offer.
§20,000
Edmund Montez, Bailey Montez
As a third-generation Montez, Edmund's roots run deep in Mesa Flats. He decided to buck the current trend of cat ownership by getting himself a Shiba Inu, Bailey.
§0
Shadow Rambler, Pooka Rambler
Shadow and Pooka have been traveling with each other for a long time. They came to Mesa Flats to see if it really is the feline mecca they've heard about.
§20,000
Anthony Zilch
Anthony recently arrived in Mesa Flats. Although quiet and reclusive, he's also suprisingly approachable when out on the town.

Technical families[]

§56,004
Damien Girard, Celeste Girard
Celeste met Damien while travelling, and he soon came to join her in Mesa Flats. Together they've made quiet and happy lives for themselves.

This family is living at 52 Newland Avenue at the start of the story, and the home is fully furnished. Both Damien and Celeste are deleted by the game at the end of the story, and the home's furniture is sold. This can be seen by importing the untouched neighborhood from a fresh installation into The Sims 2.

§0
Diva Loyal
Diva loves being spoiled by Celeste, but also likes it when Stephen visits. Diva doesn't quite understand why Stephen is a bit aloof with her.

Diva starts off in the family bin like the Rambler family, and is added to Stephen Loyal's family during the early story events. This can be seen by importing the untouched neighborhood from a fresh installation into The Sims 2.

Errors[]

When you have completed the storyline, it is revealed that Gordon's last name is not really Fetching. However, when you finish, he is playable but still has Fetching as his last name (This may be due to the fact that Sims' last names will not change unless if the Sim was married). His sidekick Anthony is also available to play. Another error is that Stephen's cousin, Celeste, and her new husband, Damien, went on a honeymoon and at the end of the storyline Damien and Celeste are non-playable, and are not mentioned or seen again after the story, despite Stephen's phone book and email address book listing them as living at 52 Newland Avenue (a lot which is empty once free play is unlocked).

Trivia[]

  • In the Nintendo DS version of The Sims 3, there is an apartment called "Mesa Flats".
  • After finishing the story, when the player goes to the neighborhood screen it will be night, just like Downtown in The Sims 2: Nightlife.
  • There is a glitch that causes Sims' facial structures to change to the second template when they wear masquerade masks.
  • Caffeine Corner, Club A, and Mesa Flats Pet Meet and Greet are never visited by Stephen during the Midnight Masquerade story.
