Mermadic Kelp is an edible object in The Sims 3: Island Paradise and The Sims 4: Island Living. Its primary purpose is to transform a non-occult Sim into a Mermaid Sim.

Can be bought as a lifetime reward for 25,000 lifetime happiness points. It can also be acquired as a gift from Mermaid Sims, though Mermaid Sims with the Evil trait (e.g. Salty Seaworth) will gift fake Mermadic Kelp that makes the Sim nauseous after eating it.
Mermadic Kelp is not to be confused with regular kelp, whose inventory icon and lot placement shape look identical, and which can be bought at grocery stores and collected at most diving areas.
