Melinda Danders is deceased long before the start of The Sims 2, and the only indication of her existence is provided by the Pleasant family tree.
Melinda is the wife of Marshall Danders, with whom she had a daughter, Diane Pleasant. Diane went on to become the mother of Daniel Pleasant, who is infamous for cheating on his wife, Mary-Sue Pleasant by conducting an affair with his housemaid, Kaylynn Langerak, and she was also the mother of Jennifer Burb, the wife of John Burb, who together had one child, Lucy Burb.
Melinda is the great-grandmother of Daniel's twin daughters; Angela and Lilith Pleasant and Jennifer's daughter Lucy Burb. She also has an unused hairstyle which appears to be a more solid version of another hairstyle.
