Melanie DeBateau (née Antross) is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during her lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. She was the daughter of Matthiew and Mary Antross, the wife of Beaumont, the mother of Armand, and the adoptive grandmother of Tara. She is completely resurrectable, even though she doesn't have a grave.
Melanie has the Knowledge aspiration and the Aquarius zodiac sign. As far as personality, she is quite playful and somewhat nice, but she is somewhat sloppy, shy, and lazy.
According to Melanie's SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was blonde before it turned gray. According to her age data, she had 18 days left in the elder life stage when she died. If Melanie is resurrected and aged down to an adult, it becomes clear that she uses the 25th Maxis face template in Create a Sim, which is one of the two broken face templates; except that her eyebrows use the 27th face template, which isn't broken. Also, the jaw is longer than on the default face. However, the jaw is only longer on teen, adult, and elder females, which may mean that the jaw was genetically passed down, as this oddity generally only occurs on Sims whose facial features were genetically passed down.
Melanie's SimDNA in SimPE shows that her recessive alleles are for red hair and gray eyes. Also, her dominant skin tone range is for light skin, while her recessive skin tone range is for tanned skin. However, her dominant and recessive alleles are for light skin. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, she only has Mystery Sim memories. However, she still has the memory of giving birth to Armand.
