Mary-Sue Pleasant (adoptive maiden name: Oldie) is a pre-made Sim who lives at 215 Sim Lane in Pleasantview, along with her husband, Daniel, and twin daughters, Angela and Lilith. She was adopted by Coral and Herb Oldie as a toddler and appears to be of Asian descent. Maxis has not confirmed that she was named for this reason, but her name refers to a pejorative term used to describe a type of fictional character.

Life leading up to The Sims
Neither Mary-Sue nor her adoptive parents appear in The Sims, but both she and Cassandra Goth have memories of having been best friends since they were children, implying that the Oldie family moved to Neighborhood 1 shortly after the start of The Sims.

She is a bit of a workaholic, and seems too immersed in her job as an Intern in the Politics career track to notice all the problems at her home - including that her husband is having an affair with the maid, Kaylynn Langerak. The Maxis plots show that their lives look perfect on the outside, but it's not all flowers and smiles. She does seem to have a little obsession with perfection, which relates again to the name she was given.

If Daniel does some of the cleaning, either before Kaylynn arrives or while she's there, she may be able to finish early enough for the two of them to be able to WooHoo before Mary-Sue gets home. If they manage this, and if they're kept out of other romantic interactions, Mary-Sue will not catch Daniel cheating, and he'll have gotten away with it - that time.
It's also possible to lock Mary-Sue's fear of losing her job. When choosing the chance card choose the Grammar Check she will lose her job. She will go into aspiration faliure and give Daniel and Kaylynn more to time in their affair.
Mary-Sue's bio says that she enjoyed pottery "when she had the time". Whether that's before she had Angela and Lilith, or before she got tied up in her career, or both, is left unsaid.

- Despite what her bio says, Sims cannot do pottery at the time of The Sims 2's release. However, The Sims 2 FreeTime allows this.
- If Free will is on, Mary-Sue may use romantic socials on Daniel, and cheating may occur if Kaylynn is present (unless she's in a different room), if this occurs, Kaylynn will slap Daniel.
- There seems to be a glitch with the Chance card which both buttons have negative effects. This might be due to the fact that she is intended to be home soon after she goes to work to see Daniel cheating with Kaylynn since Chance Card when first playing this family is inevitable. By spawning Chance Card Tester and choosing force chance card outcome... neutral, it will fix the glitch.
