Mariana Matlapin is a pre-made Sim who is a member of the Dreamer/Matlapin family featured in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3.
Biography[]
Life leading up to The Sims 3[]
Mariana resided, during her lifetime, in Lucky Palms, one of the worlds available for purchase from The Sims 3 Store. She was the wife of Omar and the mother of Darleen Dreamer (née Matlapin). Sometime before the start of The Sims 2, Mariana and her husband both died of unknown causes. Their daughter later moved to Pleasantview, where she married Darren Dreamer and gave birth to Dirk Dreamer, who is Mariana's grandson.
Life leading up to The Sims 2[]
Mariana is featured in The Sims 2 as one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods shipped with the game. Although she is deceased when the game begins, she appears in the family tree of her grandson. According to Mariana's SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was black before it turned gray, meaning that she probably dyed it brown in The Sims 3. She is the only known ancestor of Dirk that does not have dark skin. According to Mariana's age data, she had 30 days left in the elder life stage when she died.
Like most pre-made deceased Sims from The Sims 2, she is completely unplayable without the use of hacks or third-party programs, such as SimPE. Her grave cannot be found anywhere, so it was most likely deleted. Though Mariana's character data was deleted, regenerating her with SimPE is a tad easier than most dead ancestors, as her facial features are almost, if not completely, identical to those of the 9th Maxis face template in Create a Sim, unlike most "unresurrectable" Sims that have customized facial features.
