Lyla Grunt (née Vandermorgan) is one of the pre-created, yet unplayable, Sims featured in The Sims 2 as ancestors of playable, pre-created Sims. Though deceased when the game begins, she appears in the family trees of playable Sims Tank Grunt, Ripp Grunt and Buck Grunt, who are her sons.
Lyla's aspiration is Romance and her zodiac sign is Libra. She is interested in paranormal, money and weather. Lyla also has a hidden Family aspiration token. When it comes to her appearance, she has tanned skin, dark blue eyes and blonde hair. She also wears a very elegant pink dress in her thumbnail, but her clothes and hairstyle in the image where she moves out of the Grunt house is different - she wears a blue sweat-shirt and brown trousers.
Before she died, she and General Buzz divorced, and Lyla moved out. The reason they divorced is unknown, and where Lyla went after she moved out of the Grunt house is also unknown. It appears that Lyla and Olive Specter knew each other because Lyla mysteriously died in Olive's garden, which is where her grave is located. Her ghost shows that she died of electrocution. Strangely, the family she left behind has no memories of her other than her divorce from General Buzz; they do not even have memories of her death. This suggests that she may have abandoned them and never kept in contact, or it may simply be an error on the part of the game developers. If Nightlife or later is installed, and the player moves her grave, then some of her family will get a memory of her death, which will let them realize that she is dead.
When resurrected, Lyla's appearance will randomly change (including facial features), her clothing will be randomized as well as her hair style which will go bald after a few seconds because the game classifies the hair she has as "unused". She should be wearing the version with the tiara. This can be proven through SimPE. Changing her appearance at the mirror is not recommended, as it causes her appearance to look even glitchier.
There is an image of Lyla in her elder stage hidden in her character file. It can be found using SimPE, but the reason it's there is unknown. Their faces are slightly different, and the skin tone is slightly darker than the normal, adult Lyla. It is also worth is that this thumbnail looks different from any others existing in the game.
If Lyla has more children after being resurrected, they will inherit her corrupted facial features. Apparently Lyla's corrupted facial features are genetic. The same thing happens if you try this with Creon and Willow Nigmos.
