Lyla Grunt (née Vandermorgan) is one of the pre-created, yet unplayable Sims featured in The Sims 2 as ancestors of playable, pre-created Sims. Though deceased when the game begins, you can see her in the relationship trees of playable Sims Tank Grunt, Ripp Grunt and Buck Grunt who are her sons and in the relationship tree of her ex-husband General Buzz Grunt.

She resided, during her lifetime, in Strangetown, one of the neighborhoods that ships with the game. She is the mother of Tank Grunt, Ripp Grunt and Buck Grunt. Her ex-husband is General Buzz Grunt and she is the daughter of A.P. Vandermorgan and Jacqueline Vandermorgan, both of Strangetown.

Lyla's aspiration is Romance and her zodiac sign is Libra. She is interested in the paranormal, money and weather. When it comes to her appearance, she has tanned skin, brown eyes and blond hair. She also wears very elegant pink dress in her profile picture but her clothes and hairstyle in the image where she moves out of the Grunt house is different - she wears blue sweat-shirt and brown trousers.

Before she died, she and General Buzz divorced and Lyla moved out. The reason why they divorced is unknown(possibly because she is disatisfied of the way her ex-husband runs things the millitary way and the way he treats the kids) and so is the place where Lyla lived after she moved out of the Grunt house. It looks like Lyla and Olive Specter know each other because Lyla mysteriously died in Olive's garden where her grave is located. .Her ghost shows she died of electrocution. Strangely, the family she left behind has no memories of her death or anything else other than her divorce with General Buzz, suggesting that she had abandoned them and never kept in contact. It's not until you move her grave that some of her family finally realizes about her death, planting a memory in them.

• Lyla can't be resurrected using Resurrect-O-Nomitron unless you use testingcheatsenabled to make he ghost your contact or using testingcheatsenabled to resurrect her and kill her again  but she, as said before along with Willow and Creon Nigmos can be resurrected using Tombstone of Life and Death.
• If you decide to resurrect Lyla, she'll come with different, randomly chosen hairstyle and clothing. You can change her appearance but she'll have corrupted face after some time.
• On very rare occasions, if you try to resurrect Lyla with SimPE and Tombstone of L and D, her face with be VERY messed up, having the likeness of an alien's but the chin being more pointed and long. Her skin sometimes is the mannequin skin tone too. This can easily be avoided by fixing her file with SimPE before resurrecting her.
• There is image of Lyla being in her Elder stage hidden deeply in her character files. You can find it using SimPe but it is unknown why is it there.
• She may have been murdered because she died on Olive Specter's lot
