Lightning is a returning weather phase in ''The Sims 4: Seasons''. Sims that get struck by lightning will receive a moodlet; if they are struck again before the moodlet expires, they will either die or gain special superpowers that enable them to summon lightning to a location of their choosing. They can also strike other Sims with lightning. However, the struck Sim will not be affected. Lightning can also strike the ground, where it will affect plumbing and cause plumbing objects to spark.

Sims will attempt to run inside when outside during a thunderstorm. While outside, they will receive a tense moodlet "What am I doing out here?!" Even when inside, they still receive a weaker tense moodlet. If lightning strikes on your land, plumbing will spark with electricity, making them possibly dangerous to use during a thunderstorm.

Sims who are outdoors during a thunderstorm will become [[tense]] and will autonomously attempt run indoors. Even when indoors, Sims will receive a weaker tense moodlet for the duration of the storm.
