A lighthouse is a tower-like object seen in various Sims games. Their shapes are distinctly recognizable as lighthouses. Many of them (but not all of them) light around at night, and the ones in The Sims 3 (Wii), The Sims 3 (Nintendo DS), and The Sims 3: Pets for console are interactive to varying extents.
The Sims 3 (PC)[]
Various large decorative lighthouses are present, and some Store worlds (e.g. Monte Vista, Roaring Heights) come with ones that can be placed by players through Buydebug.

The lighthouse in The Sims 3 for Nintendo DS is a rabbit hole that any Sim can visit.
Presumably due to system limitations, the lighthouse itself is not on a lot, in the sense that a Sim cannot walk to specific spots on the tarmac around the lighthouse, and the door on one of the sides are not used either. The Sim will instead enter and exit through one of the solid sides of the lighthouse.
The nearest actual lot is a small park slightly downhill with a dirt trail, some bushes, and one bench, but the lot is not directly connected to the lighthouse.

In Sugar Maple Coast, the Rock's Edge Lighthouse is a rabbit hole. Located on the north coast, the lighthouse functions similarly to the mausoleum, as a Sim or pet can explore inside and find various items, such as gems and books. At night, it lights up.
Exploring the Rock’s Edge Lighthouse triggers various flavor text describing its interior. The lighthouse is described as labyrinthine, appearing much larger on the inside than its exterior suggests. Sims use oil lanterns to navigate its hallways, and a flooded basement is mentioned in several chance cards. One room contains an ornate chair and a skeleton with a key ring around its finger, while the caretaker’s bedroom is dust-ridden, save for its pristine bed. There also appear to be multiple, winding stairs, frequently tiring adventurers. Dogs exploring will often encounter squirrels, while cats may encounter a spectral feline. Additionally, a six-legged creature known as the "Wumpus" can appear, frightening any Sim or pet that discovers it. Encountering the Wumpus prematurely ends the exploration.
The lighthouse plays an important role during the Just Nine Lives to Live mystery. A cat visiting the lighthouse will encounter Mr. Snugglywhiskers, who asks them to hunt for specific insects and arachnids. Mr. Snugglywhiskers is only mentioned through text and cannot leave the lighthouse.
Cut lore reveals the Wolff and Angel families managed the lighthouse for generations, with the recently deceased elder Wolff owning a room filled with personal belongings. The canonicity of this information is uncertain, as it was ultimately removed from the final game. However, what appears to be the lighthouse can be seen in a painting depicting the last meeting of the town’s founders, suggesting that it was constructed around the time of the town’s founding.
The Sims 4[]

What appears to be a decorative and unmodifiable lighthouse is present in Deadgrass Isle, Brindleton Bay. Sims can WooHoo inside, and their baby will have a hidden trait that gives them a happy moodlet when visiting.[1]
Notes[]
- In The Sims 2, a lighthouse is available in Neighborhood mode.[2]
