The Sims 3: Into the Future

A Legacy Statue is a type of statue in The Sims 3: Into the Future that is directly associated with the default business park in Oasis Landing, and which are present in all 3 future states of Oasis Landing. Having a player Sim take stand on a statue is based on completing in-game challenge tasks.

Legacy Statue
Game The Sims 3: Into the Future
Buyability No
Price in game §1,000
Object type(s) Moodlet
Size 1x1

When a Sim is unlocking a legacy statue, it will give him/her a reward. However, a Sim needs to complete criteria to unlock a legacy statue. The requirements are found in the Almanac of time. If a Sim completes a legacy statue, he/she will take over that statue's status.

Each such statue that the Sim is displayed on, gives a +15 moodlet while being anywhere in Oasis Landing. The moodlets stack, so being on all 5 statues will give the Sim a total of +75 to their mood meter. There are otherwise no specific rewards for completing all 5 challenges.

Sorted in rough order from easiest to hardest to complete:

Icon Type Stated criteria Reward (along with statue)
The Renowned Philanthropist
(Philantropist)
  • Win the Lotto in present-day
  • Donate §50,000 to the Plan the Future fund at present day city hall
Gain the ability to give away Simoleons to other Sims (in Oasis Landing)
Notes: The game also accepts if it's done the other way around, to donate to the fund and then try to win the lotto.
The Time Keeper
(TimeKeeper)
Time Remote Control
Notes: Becoming best friends with Emit Relevart can be done at any point during the challenge.
  • Changing directly between Dystopia ↔ Utopia is counted for step 2.
  • Doing the undoing quests counts for step 3, as opposed to needing Advanced Technology level 10 to "Reset the Time Continuum".
The Pioneer of Plumbotics
(ParentOfRobotics)
  • 1. Make a "Future Tech" Quality Plumbot while in present-day
  • 2. Install the Sentience Trait Chip to the Plumbot, while in present day.
  • Increase relationship with Plumbots at a faster rate
  • Receive more Simoleons when selling Plumbots
Notes: The chip has to be put into that same bot. Furthermore, the bot has to be created as Future Tech (Quality 10) straight out of the machine, which can take more than a dozen attempts even at Bot Building skill level 10; getting a Plumbot to Future Tech by repeatedly using "Tune Up" on them won't count.
The Trendsetter
(Trendsetter)
  • 1. Set up a Clothing Pedestal in present-day
  • 2. Have 4 Sims use the Clothing Pedestal to change their outfit, while in present day.
Nearby Sims (in Oasis Landing) will periodically change into the same outfit that you're wearing
Notes: For tips on how to handle the complex outfit rotation systems for the challenge, see Mannequin (object)#Plan outfits.
The Lustrous Entertainer
(Entertainer)
Increase in relationship with other Sims who watch or listen while playing the Laser Rhythm-a-con
Notes: Reaching level 10 can be done in any world and be counted, including if level 10 is reached while in Oasis Landing.

Types of Legacy Statues[]

Moving the statues[]

Moving the existing statues in Legacy Park around with moveObjects is complicated. The base and the Sim sculpture ("Solidified Sim") are treated as 2 different objects, the sculpture can't be easily placed back onto the base, and neither of the 2 can be bought with Buydebug.

Bases that no longer have sculptures on top of them, will usually generate new sculptures when the Sim goes back to the present and then goes back to Oasis Landing. Merely saving, quitting, and relaunching the game won't work. If the player Sim qualified to be on the original sculptures, the regenerated sculptures will also be of that player Sim.

Adding or deleting statues[]

Very high difficulty
Force-deleting the statues with e.g. Testingcheatsenabled, or wanting to add new statues on another lot, is only suited for very expert players.

Until early 2025, the only known method if the base itself has been deleted (or if the player wants to place a new statue somewhere) is to use the "NRaas Debug Enabler" gamemod in Live Mode on a suited non-residential flat area in Oasis Landing (Generating new sculptures won't work in other worlds) → "Options:" → "Create Object" → Type "StatueCauseEffect,EP11", which will create a new base.

An update to the "Unavailable objects made available" gamemod was then published that made the statues available in Buydebug.

To change that statue's type, enter the lot in Buy Mode^ Ctrl+⇧ Shift-click on the object → "Set Type...". The available types are listed in parentheses in the criteria table further above.

Trivia[]

  • There is a glitch that an ice Sim legacy statue will turn into the "Ice goblin" sculpting statue from The Sims 3: Ambitions.[1] The specific reason why it's the ice goblin statue is because the statued Sim and the foundation are treated as 2 different objects, as can be seen when using moveObjects; the Sim statue has the object name "Solidified Sim" (worth §10) and its base icon when dragging it in Buy Mode is that of the ice goblin.
