Laser rhythm-a-con is a musical instrument that was introduced in The Sims 3: Into the Future. It can be played by Sims aged teen or older.

When Sims reach level 5 of laser rhythm-a-con skill, they can play for tips and perform specific compositions. At level 6, they can perform the serenade interaction. As skill level increases, Sims start to perform more complicated moves while playing. There are also opportunities revolving around this instrument.

Unlike other instruments in The Sims 3 and The Sims 3: Late Night, Sims cannot jam with a laser rhythm-a-con, or use it in a band.

Color options[]

Different colors can be specified for lasers for when they are idle or played. They can be randomized, or changed to one of the following options:

  • White
  • Red
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Magenta
  • Yellow
  • Orange
  • Cyan
  • Purple
  • Flame

If colors are randomized, they will change randomly and automatically while the Sim is playing.

Legacy statue[]

The Lustrous Entertainer legacy statue can be earned by playing laser rhythm-a-con. It requires a Sim to reach level 10 in laser rhythm-a-con skill, and have 10 Sims listen to the Sim playing it in the present day.

Trivia[]

  • Laser rhythm-a-con is based on an instrument called laser harp.
  • There were plans to allow laser rhythm-a-con in Late Night gigs, but the plans were canceled before Into the Future's release.
